  1. 1. Surface Properties of Antibodies and their Complexes with Antigens Studied by LLPC

    Author : Christer Wingren; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ligand-binding.; surface properties; isomerism; conformational changes; antibody; specificity; two-phase partitioning; antigen-binding sites; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism;

    Abstract : The main objective of this thesis was to gain further insight into the relationship between the exposed surfaces and the functional properties of antibodies and their complexes with antigens in solution. To study this relationship, a new technique, liquid-liquid partition chromatography (LLPC) in aqueous two-phase systems, was developed further with respect to sensitivity, selectivity and reproducibility. 4. 4. Isomers of ions in space and planetary atmospheres

    Author : David Sundelin; Wolf D. Geppert; Olle Björneholm; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : Ion physics; ionosphere; interstellar medium; isomers; Titan.; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : Ion chemistry has become increasingly important in the evolution of the chemical inventory of extraterrestrial environments. Isomers of ions have also come to play an important role as, in many instances, the cold environments in the interstellar medium and high layers of planet and satellite atmospheres do not supply enough energy to overcome isomerization barriers and the isomers effectively act as separate molecules. 5. 5. Convergent and Tandem Strategies in Iridium-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Olefins

    Author : Luca Massaro; Pher Andersson; Antoni Riera; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Enantioconvergent catalysis; asymmetric hydrogenation; iridium catalysis; tandem reaction; mechanistic investigation; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis describes the development of enantioselective methods and their corresponding mechanistic studies to expand the field of catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation. Efficient catalytic systems based on iridium complexes were designed and employed in convergent and tandem strategies to prepare important optically enriched organic compounds. READ MORE
