  1. 1. On Degree Variance in Random Graphs

    Author : Jan Hagberg; Ove Frank; Tom A.B. Snijders; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Degree Sequences; Uniform Random Graphs; Bernoulli Graphs; Degree Moments; Degree Statistics; Degree Variance; Gamma Approximation; Centrality Testing; Integer Sequences; Statistics; Statistik;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with degree moments and degree variance in random graphs. The degree of vertex i in a graph is the number of edges incident to vertex i.In the first paper, degree moments and functions of degree moments are investigated for three random graph models. 2. 2. Hardy-Lieb-Thirring inequalities for eigenvalues of Schrödinger operators

    Author : Rupert L. Frank; Ari Laptev; Jan Philip Solovej; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : This thesis is devoted to quantitative questions about the discrete spectrum of Schrödinger-type operators. In Paper I we show that the Lieb-Thirring inequalities on moments of negative eigen¬values remain true, with possibly different constants, when the critical Hardy weight is subtracted from the Laplace operator. 3. 3. ‘Collaborative Competition’ : Stance-taking and Positioning in the European Parliament

    Author : Nazli Avdan; Leelo Keevallik; Angelika Linke; Frank Baasner; Jan Anward; John DuBois; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Parliamentary Interaction; Questions and Questioning; the European Parliament; Stancetaking; Intergroup Positioning;

    Abstract : The European Parliament (EP) is the scene where certain issues concerning over 500 million ‘Europeans’ are publicly debated and where politically relevant groupings are discursively coconstructed. While the Members of the Parliament (MEPs) pursue their political agendas, intergroup boundaries are drawn, reinforced, and/or transgressed. READ MORE

    Abstract : This dissertation investigates judgmental effects of visual cues in accounting communication. The dissertation comprises a comprehensive summary and four empirical studies. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development and Application of Human Chromosome 22 Genomic Microarray : Chromosome 22-Associated Disorders Analyzed by Array-Based Comparative Genomic Hybridization

    Author : Magdalena Benetkiewicz; Jan Dumanski; Niklas Dahl; Frank Speleman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular genetics; DNA copy number changes; chromosome 22; genomic microarray; array-CGH; schwannoma; neurofibromatosis type 2; ovarian carcinoma; breast cancer; Wilms tumor; Genetik; Genetics; Genetik;

    Abstract : The array-based form of comparative genomic hybridization (array-CGH) is a new methodology that has shown to be of significant importance. This thesis focuses on the development of array-CGH with the aim to define candidate regions/genes on chromosome 22 in a wide spectrum of cancer-related conditions. READ MORE
