1. Neck function in rhythmic jaw activities
Abstract : Previous studies in animals and humans show anatomic and physiological connections between the trigeminal and cervical regions. This investigation tested the hypothesis of a functional integration between the human jaw and neck motor systems in rhythmic jaw activities. READ MORE

2. Extra- and intrafusal muscle fibre type compositions of the human masseter at young age. : In perspective of growth and functional maturation of the jaw-face motor system
Abstract : Muscles control body posture and movement by extrafusal and intrafusal (muscle spindle) fibres. The purpose of this thesis was to provide insight into the muscular basis for human jaw function at young age. READ MORE

3. Hypothalamic and cortical control of jaw reflexes
Abstract : The subject of the thesis is a study of the projections from low threshold oral and face afferents to the cerebral cortex and of descending motor control mechanisms originating in the cerebral cortex or the hypothalamus and influencing the jaw reflexes.Cats anaesthetized with chi oral ose were used for the experiments. 4. Mastication in jaw muscle pain
Abstract : Background: Integrated Pain Adaptation Models suggest a possible pain-motor interaction. Mechanisms affecting the jaw muscle spindles seem to affect the ability to bite and chew, suggesting that jaw muscle pain may be a potential modifier of mastication in humans. READ MORE

5. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning
Abstract : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. READ MORE
