  2. 2. Role of arginase in vascular function

    Author : Christian Jung; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Abstract : Background Nitric oxide (NO) is central for the integrity of the cardiovascular system, the maintenance of endothelial function and the protection against ischaemic heart disease. The enzyme arginase is up-regulated during ischaemia-reperfusion and by hypoxia in cell culture and animal models which might be of pathophysiological relevance since it competes with NO synthase for their common substrate arginine. 3. 3. Estimation of Inverse Models Applied to Power Amplifier Predistortion

    Author : Ylva Jung; Martin Enqvist; Lennart Ljung; Torkel Glad; Mikael Sternad; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Mathematical models are commonly used in technical applications to describe the behavior of a system. These models can be estimated from data, which is known as system identification. Usually the models are used to calculate the output for a given input, but in this thesis, the estimation of inverse models is investigated. READ MORE

  4. 4. On effectiveness in colorectal surgery : mechanical bowel preparation or not in elective colonic surgery and treatment options for elderly patients with rectal cancer

    Author : Bärbel Jung; Erik Nilsson; Svante Nordgren; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; colorectal surgery; bowel preparation; postoperative outcome; quality of life; cancer survival; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Abstract : The management of patients undergoing colorectal surgery has changed in recent decades. Efforts have been made to show that perioperative physiological stress to the patient can be minimised with standardised care programmes and thus improve short term outcome after colorectal surgery. 5. 5. Diagnosability performance analysis of models and fault detectors

    Author : Daniel Jung; Erik Frisk; Mattias Krysander; Michael Hofbaur; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fault detection; Fault isolation; FDI; Kullback-Leibler divergence; Engine misfire detection;

    Abstract : Model-based diagnosis compares observations from a system with predictions using a mathematical model to detect and isolate faulty components. Analyzing which faults that can be detected and isolated given the model gives useful information when designing a diagnosis system. READ MORE
