  1. 1. Geochemical and sedimentary signatures of Phanerozoic events

    Author : Jane Wigforss-Lange; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; geokemi; Sedimentology; Petrology; mineralogy; geochemistry; Petrologi; mineralogi; Carbon and oxygen isotopes; Jurassic-Cretaceous boundary; K-T boundary; Late Silurian; Events; Trace elements; Sedimentologi;

    Abstract : Geological and biological catastrophic events have occurred repeatedly in the Earth's history, leaving traces in the global stratigraphical record in the form of sedimentary features, geochemical anomalies and biotic turnovers. This thesis focuses on the sedimentological and geochemical signatures of several key events in the Phanerozoic stratigraphical record, and aims to interpret the different signals and the causal mechanisms behind each of these events. 2. 2. Multidimensional MRI  of Myocardial Dynamics : Acquisition, Reconstruction and Visualization

    Author : Andreas Sigfridsson; Hans Knutsson; Sebastian Kozerke; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MRI; Cardiac motion; myocardial dynamics; strain; tensor; deformation; DENSE; k-t BLAST; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Abstract : Methods for measuring deformation and motion of the human heart in-vivo are crucial in the assessment of cardiac function. Applications ranging from basic physiological research, through early detection of disease to follow-up studies, all rely on the quality of the measurements of heart dynamics. READ MORE

  3. 3. Marsupial Mitogenomics

    Author : Maria Nilsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Genetics; Biologi; Biology; divergence times; K T-boundary; phylogenetic reconstruction; Ameridelphia; Australidelphia; Notoryctes; Dromiciops; Marsupialia; mitochondrial genomes; cytogenetics; Genetik; cytogenetik;

    Abstract : The relationships of the mammalian infraclass Marsupialia have been investigated by phylogenetic analysis using completely sequenced mitochondrial genomes. The organisation and structure of the marsupial mitochondrial genomes deviates from the general mammalian structure. READ MORE

  4. 4. Spatiotemporal Evolution of Neotropical Organisms: New Insights into an Old Riddle

    Author : Alexandre Antonelli; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Neotropics; Biodiversity patterns; Speciation models; Andean uplift; K T Event; Biogeography; Phylogenetics; Molecular dating; Rubiaceae; Chloranthaceae; Campanulaceae; Tetrapods; Biological systematics;

    Abstract : Nowhere else on Earth are there so many species of plants and animals as in the Neotropical region. Yet, many questions remain concerning the causes underlying such outstanding diversification. READ MORE

  5. 5. Interpolation of Hilbert spaces

    Author : Yacin Ameur; Frank Hansen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Interpolation; Hilbert space; K-functional; K-monotonicity; Calderon couple; Pick function; matrix monotone function; K_2-functional; Löwner s and Donoghue s theorems.; MATEMATIK; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : (i) We prove that intermediate Banach spaces A, B with respect to arbitrary Hilbert couples H, K are exact interpolation iff they are exact K-monotonic, i.e. the condition f0∊A and the inequality K(t,g0;K)≤K(t,f0;H), t>0 imply g0∊B and ||g0||B≤||f0||A (K is Peetre's K-functional).
