  1. 11. Enzyme- and Transition Metal-Catalyzed Asymmetric Transformations : Application of Enzymatic (D)KR in Enantioselective Synthesis

    Author : Richard Lihammar; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Wolfgang Kroutil; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dynamic Kinetic Resolution; Kinetic Resolution; Enzyme Catalysis; Asymmetric Synthesis; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) is a powerful method for obtaining compounds with high optical purity. The process relies on the combination of a kinetic resolution with an in situ racemization. READ MORE

  2. 12. Transition Metal- and Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions of Primary Amines and Allylic Alcohols : Powerful Tools in the Preparation of Pharmaceutically Important Compounds

    Author : Lisa K. Thalén; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Dirk De Vos; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dynamic kinetic resolution; racemization; catalysis; hydrogen transfer; kinetic resolution; norsertraline; alpha-methyl carboxylic acids; pipecoloxylidide; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) has been applied to primary amines utilizing a ruthenium catalyst and an (R)-selective lipase to provide the corresponding amides in up to 95% isolated yield and up to >99% ee. Further investigations of the chemoenzymatic DKR of amines show that it is general and can be applied to a wide range of amines. READ MORE

  3. 13. Iridium Catalysed Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Olefins and Dynamic Kinetic Resolution in the Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Allylic Alcohols

    Author : Jianguo Liu; Pher G Andersson; Xiao Jianliang; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Iridium catalyst; asymmetric hydrogenation; dynamic kinetic resolution; allylic alcohol; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The work described in this thesis is focused on exploring the efficacy of iridium-catalysed asymmetric hydrogenation of precursors to chiral alcohols and chiral cyclohexanes. A range of allylic alcohols including γ,γ-dialkyl allylic alcohols and (Z)-allylic alcohols were prepared and evaluated in the asymmetric hydrogenation using iridium catalysts resulting in chiral alcohols in high yields and excellent enantioselectivity. 4. 14. Chemoenzymatic Dynamic Kinetic Resolution of Functionalized Secondary Alcohols

    Author : Richard Lihammar; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) is the combination of a kinetic resolution with an in situ racemization and is a powerful method for obtaining optically active compounds. In this thesis various secondary alcohols are transformed to their corresponding enantiomerically enriched acetates by employing immobilized lipases as resolution catalysts and transition metal complexes as racemization catalysts. 5. 15. Studies on Metalloenzymatic Dynamic Kinetic Resolutions and Iron-Catalyzed Reactions of Allenes

    Author : Karl P. J. Gustafson; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Johannes de Vries; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Racemization; Dynamic Kinetic Resolution; Enzyme Catalysis; XAS; Asymmetric Synthesis; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The main focus of this thesis lies in the development of new transition metal-catalyzed chemoenzymatic dynamic kinetic resolutions (DKR) of both alcohols and amines. The first part of the thesis deals with the development of new heterogeneous systems for the DKR of amines. READ MORE
