  1. 1. Mechanistic investigation of platinum and palladium catalysed cross- coupling reactions. Implications for the Stille and Heck reactions

    Author : Patrik Nilsson; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metallorganisk kemi; Organometallic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; parameter fitting; numerical solutions; platinum II ; palladium II ; NMR spectroscopy; transmetallation; Heck; Stille; kinetics; mechanism;

    Abstract : The present thesis deals with various types of palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes and their use in homogeneous catalysis. The focus has been devoted to mechanistic investigations concerning the Stille and Heck reactions and studies under both catalytic and stoichiometric conditions were conducted. READ MORE

  2. 2. Reactions of Model and Anticancer Active Platinum(IV/II) Complexes - A Kinetic and Mechanistic Study

    Author : Kelemu Lemma; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Model Pt II complexes; Anticancer active Pt IV compounds; Cisplatin; Rescue agents; L-Ascorbic acid; Thiol; Substitution; Kinetics and mechanism; Electron transfer; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis reductions of model and anticancer active Pt(IV) complexes with thiols and ascorbic acid and substitution reactions of cisplatin and model Pt(II) complexes with S-donor nucleophiles (rescue agents) have been investigated using stopped-flow and UV/VIS spectrophotometry. Glutathione (GSH) reduction of the anticancer active Pt(IV) compounds t- and c-[PtCl4(cha)(NH3)] (cha = cyclohexylamine), t-[PtCl4(thiazole)(NH3)] and c-[PtCl4(NH3)2] at 25 oC was observed to be very fast. 3. 3. Platinum(II) and Palladium (II) Complexes with Group 14 and 15 Donor Ligands. Synthesis, Structure and Substitution Mechanisms

    Author : Ola Wendt; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mechanism; kinetics; substitution; platinum; palladium; aryl; silyl; nitrile; triphenylstibine; NMR; IR; Raman; X-ray crystallography; stopped-flow; synthesis; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The present thesis deals with Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes with group 14 and 15 donor ligands. Such complexes have been prepared and investigated mainly with regard to their ground state structures and the mechanism according to which they undergo substitution. READ MORE

  4. 4. Structure-Reactivity Correlations for Reactions of Palladium(II) and Platinum(IV) Complexes

    Author : Tiesheng Shi; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thiol; l-methionine; maleic acid; carboxylic acid; thioether; platinum IV ; palladium II ; linear free energy relationship; volumes of activation; structure-reactivity correlation; reduction; substitution; equilibria; kinetics; mechanism; glutathione; Animal physiology; Djurfysiologi;

    Abstract : The kinetics and mechanism for substitution reactions on tetraaquapalladium(II) by an extended series of thioethers, a great number of carboxylic acids, and olefins have been studied by use of UV-VIS, stopped-flow, and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and NMR spectroscopy. Second-order rate constants k and activation parameters (activation enthalpies, entropies, and volumes) for formation of monodentate 1:1 complexes have been determined. READ MORE

    Abstract : Reactions of trans-dicyanodichloroaurate(III) trans-dibromodicyanoaurate(III), trans-diamminedichlorogold(III), cis-diammine(aqua)chloroplatinum(II), cis-ammineaqua-(cyclohexylamine)chloroplatinum(II), chloro(terpyridine)platinum(II) and chloro-(diethylenetriaminepalldium(II) with dimethyl sulfide, thionucleosides, thionucleotides and thione- and guanine-containing 17-mer oligonucleotides have been investigated by use of conventional and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and HPLC technique as a function of ionic strength, pH, temperature and pressure in aqueous solutions. The mechanism and rate of oxidation of dimethyl sulfide by gold(III) complexes depends on the concentration of free halide. READ MORE
