  1. 1. Oxidation kinetics of nickel particles

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Richard Karmhag; Uppsala universitet.; [1999]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Oxidation; kinetics; nickel; particles; UFP; solar absorber; Materialvetenskap; TECHNOLOGY Materials science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Abstract : Nanoparticles have an immense surface to volume ratio. This is a key factor to the new properties of some materials made up of such particles. The oxide layer formed on all materials will have a large influence on the behaviour of these materials. The layer isadvantageous in some cases but causes problems in other. READ MORE

  2. 2. Lipase chemoselectivity - kinetics and applications

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Cecilia Hedfors; KTH.; [2009]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Candida antarctica lipase B; Rhizomucor miehei lipase; active site titration; kinetics; chemoselectivity; thiol; alcohol; thiol-functionalized polyesters; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi;

    Abstract :  A chemoselective catalyst is preferred in a chemical reaction where protecting groups otherwise are needed. The two lipases Candida antarctica lipase B and Rhizomucor miehei lipase showed large chemoselectivity ratios, defined as (kcat/KM)OH / (kcat/KM)SH, in a transacylation reaction with ethyl octanoate as acyl donor and hexanol or hexanethiol as acyl acceptor (paper I). 3. 3. Xylan sorption kinetics at industrial conditions

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Espen Ribe; [2010]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kraft cooking; Black liquor; Sorption; Sorption conditions; Xylan; Kinetics; Yield; Modelling; Hemicellulose;

    Abstract : The kraft process is the most utilised method for the production of wood based chemical pulp for paper applications. During a kraft cook about half of the wood material is dissoluted into the cooking liquor making the liberation of individual fibres possible. This low yield is a great disadvantage for process economy. READ MORE

  4. 4. The kinetics of cellulose enzymatic hydrolysis Implications of the synergism between enzymes

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Priit Väljamäe; Uppsala universitet.; [2002]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Acetobacter; Cellobiohydrolase; Cellobiose; Cellulase; Cellulose; Diffusion; Endoglucanase; Hydrolysis; Inhibition; Kinetics; Model; Product; Substrate; Surface; Synergism; Trichoderma reesei; Biokemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : The hydrolysis kinetics of bacterial cellulose and its derivatives by Trichoderma reesei cellulases was studied. The cellulose surface erosion model was introduced to explain the gradual and strong retardation of the rate of enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose. READ MORE

  5. 5. Kinetics for oxidation of CRUD model compounds

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Kemi

    Author : Maryam Abili Nejad; KTH.; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; reactor chemistry; radiolysis; oxidation; kinetics; crud; metal oxide;

    Abstract : The formation of CRUD (Chalk River Unidentified Deposit) inwater-cooled nuclear reactors constitute a severe problem. Thestability of CRUD under reactor conditions (high flux ofionizing radition, high temperature and pressure) must be knownin order to minimize the problem. READ MORE
