  1. 1. Swift transition and knowledge cycling : A study of knowledge transfer in technical consulting

    Author : Svjetlana Pantic-Dragisic; Jonas Söderlund; Cecilia Enberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Professional service firm; technical consulting firm; technical consultants; mobile engineers; knowledge transfer; mobility; swift transition; knowledge cycling; formal training;

    Abstract : The prominent shifts towards greater flexibility in work arrangements as well as in organizational forms have had profound effects on the labor market for engineers, and given rise to the technical consulting industry. The technical consulting firm is becoming increasingly important in many technology-based industries, as a growing number of technology-based firms rely on technical consulting firms to produce their outputs. 2. 2. Impacts and drivers of insect herbivory on element cycling in forests globally

    Author : Bernice Hwang; MERGE: ModElling the Regional and Global Earth system; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biogeochemical cycling; folivory; insect cadavers; insect frass; insect herbivory; litter decomposition; nutrient cycling; carbon; nitrogen; phosphorus; silicon; silica;

    Abstract : The effects of insect herbivores on forest functioning are not well understood even though they can have important impacts on ecosystem processes by intercepting foliage before resorption and depositing nutrient-rich materials to the soil. In this thesis, I investigated the impact and drivers of insect folivores on carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and silica (Si) cycling in broadleaf forests, and how this varies with major climate variables. 4. 4. Metabolic and Cardiovascular Responses During Variable Intensity Exercise

    Author : Glenn Björklund; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cross-country skiing; cycling; heart rate; lactate; O2 extraction; O2 uptake; performance; ventilation; Sports; Idrott;

    Abstract : Previous research investigating endurance sports from a physiological perspectivehas mainly used constant or graded exercise protocols, although the nature ofsports like cross-country skiing and road cycling leads to continuous variations inworkload. Current knowledge is thus limited as regards physiological responses tovariations in exercise intensity. READ MORE
