16. Towards molecular weight-dependent uses of kraft lignin
Abstract : There is growing demand for a more efficient use of polymers that originate from renewable feedstocks due to the depleting supply of fossil fuels, based on economic and environmental reasons. As a result, lignin has attracted renewed interest as a resource for various bioproducts. READ MORE

17. On calcium-related problems in kraft pulping of Eucalyptus dunnii
Abstract : Kraft pulping is the most widely used pulping process for producing chemical pulp today. It has been in use for more than 130 years. READ MORE

18. From recovery boiler to integration of a textile fiber plant : Combination of mass balance analysis and chemical engineering
Abstract : Modern chemical technology is an efficient tool for solving problems, particularly within the complex environment of the pulp and paper industry, and the combination of experimental studies, mill data and mass balance calculations are of fundamental importance to the development of the industry. In this study various examples are presented, whereby chemical technology is of fundamental importance. READ MORE

19. Kraft lignin valorization by hydrotreatment over Mo-based sulfided catalysts
Abstract : The production of green fuels and chemicals from bio-based feedstock can suppress the dependency on fossil resources and help mitigate global climate challenges. Kraft lignin is a thermochemically modified natural lignin obtained from the pulping process as a byproduct. READ MORE

20. Preparation and Characterization of Chemical Pulps from Wood and Reed Canary Grass
Abstract : This thesis presents laboratory results from ethanol pulping of reed canary grass for the production of paper pulp. The focus was on the influence of cooking pa-rameters on the delignification. The strength of the grass pulps was found to be low and the use of such pulps will therefore be limited to a few products. READ MORE
