  1. 21. Phenomenology of Diffractive Higgs Production and Large Extra Dimensions

    Author : Malin Sjödahl; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ADD; black holes; gravitational scattering; quantum field theory; Elementary particle physics; LHC; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi; High energy interactions; kvantfältteori; Elementarpartikelfysik; Higgs; large extra dimensions; Diffractive;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on phenomenological predictions for high energy particle collisions from two different theoretical models. The first two papers deal with uncertainties in exclusive reactions of type proton + proton -> proton + proton + Higgs. READ MORE

  2. 22. Multiparticle Production in Strong Interactions

    Author : Fredrik Söderberg; Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC); []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hadronisation; QCD; Bose-Einstein correlations; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; quantum field theory; String fragmentation; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Söderberg;

    Abstract : An alternative formulation of the Lund fragmentation model for string states without gluons is presented. It is shown that the fragmentation process can be factorised into a product of transition operators with well-defined eigenfunctions and corresponding eigenvalues. READ MORE

  3. 23. Luminosity evaluation and fragmentation studies for the DELPHI experiment at LEP

    Author : Christina Zacharatou Jarlskog; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; luminosity; hadronization; Z boson; strong coupling constant; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; quantum field theory; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Jarlskog; LEP; DELPHI; kvantfältteori; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The first subject addressed in this thesis is the contribution of the VSAT luminosity to the lineshape analysis, i.e. to the extraction of the mass and width of the Z0 boson from LEP1 DELPHI data. The VSAT detector has contributed to the lineshape parameter determination by providing a relative luminosity measurement of high accuracy. READ MORE

  4. 24. The Noncommutative Geometry of Real Calculi

    Author : Axel Tiger Norkvist; Joakim Arnlind; Vladimir Tkatjev; Stefan Wagner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Noncommutative geometry extends the traditional connections between algebra and geometry beyond the realm of commutative algebras, allowing for a broader exploration of geometric concepts in noncommutative settings. The geometric perspective facilitates the study and understanding of various mathematical structures, including operator algebras, quantum groups, and noncommutative spaces. READ MORE

  5. 25. Family symmetries and radiative corrections in multi-scalar extensions of the Standard Model

    Author : Jonas Wessén; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Beyond the Standard Model; Trinification; Grand Unification; Three Higgs doublet models; Coleman-Weinberg potential; Supersymmetry; Left-Right symmetry; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Wessén;

    Abstract : The four articles contained in this thesis all concern aspects of model building beyond the Standard Model (BSM). While Paper I mainly serves as a ``tool paper'' in which the results can be used to simplify certain calculations of one-loop effects from new heavy particles, Paper II--IV all deal with consequences of family symmetries in several BSM scenarios.
