  1. 1. In the Business of Building Green : The value of low-energy residential buildings from customer and developer perspectives

    Author : Agnieszka Zalejska-Jonsson; Hans Lind; Staffan Hintze; Leif Gustavsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sustainability; green buildings; residential buildings; low-energy; energy-efficiency; construction cost; profitability; occupant satisfaction; indoor environment quality IEQ ; hållbarhet; gröna byggnader; bostäder; låg-energi; energieffektivitet; byggkostnad; lönsamhet; boende nöjdhet; inomhusmiljö;

    Abstract : An overarching aim of this research was to investigate the comprehensive value of green residential buildings as seen from two perspectives: that of the developer and that of the occupant (the customer). The dissertation consists of studies presented in seven papers. READ MORE

  2. 2. The effect of spacecraft charging on low-energy ion measurements around comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko

    Author : Sofia Bergman; Gabriella Stenberg Wieser; Martin Wieser; Gert Brodin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spacecraft charging; low-energy ions; space physics; plasma physics; comet; Rosetta; SPIS; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Abstract : A spacecraft in space interacts with the surrounding environment and aqcuires an electrostatic potential. Charged particles are constantly bombarding the surface of the spacecraft, and at the same time solar EUV radiation induces photoemission, causing electrons to be emitted from the surface. READ MORE

  3. 3. III–V Nanowire Surfaces

    Author : Martin Hjort; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; low energy electron microscopy; scanning tunneling spectroscopy; scanning tunneling microscopy; surface; III–V semiconductor materials; nanowire; photoemission electron microscopy; photoelectron spectroscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Hjort;

    Abstract : This dissertation deals with the geometric and electronic structure of surfaces on III–V semiconductor nanowires (NWs). NWs made of InAs, GaAs, and InP have been studied using scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/S), low energy electron microscopy (LEEM), photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM), and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). 4. 4. Variational Methods in Combinatorial Optimization and Phylogeny Reconstruction

    Author : Henrik Jönsson; Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; statistical physics; gravitation; relativity; annealing; variational; mean-field; phylogeny; constraint satisfaction; combinatorial optimization; maximum likelihood; Physics; Fysik; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; quantum mechanics; classical mechanics; klassisk mekanik; kvantmekanik; relativitet; statistisk fysik; termodynamik; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Jönsson; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; thermodynamics;

    Abstract : Algorithms based on the variational approach, as used in statistical physics, are developed. For constraint satisfaction problems a novel cost function, based on information-theoretic arguments, is introduced, and an algorithm similar to the mean-field annealing algorithm is proposed. 5. 5. Twisted Loops and Models for Form-factors and the Muon g-2

    Author : Johan Relefors; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chiral perturbation theory; Twisted boundary conditions; Phenomenological models; Muon g-2; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Relefors;

    Abstract : In this thesis we use effective field thory methods and models for low energy QCD in two different contexts. One is direct calculation of contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, muon g-2. The other is estimates of systematic sources of uncertainty in lattice QCD simulations. The work is presented in five papers. READ MORE
