1. Polypropylene : Morphology, defects and electrical breakdown
Abstract : Crystal structure, morphology and crystallization kinetics of melt-crystallized polypropylene and poly(propylene-stat-ethylene) fractions with 2.7 to 11.0 mol% of ethylene were studied by differential scanning calorimeter, wide- and small-angle X-ray scattering, polarized light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. 2. Quality Aspects of Sliced Oak Lamellae in Development of Engineered Wood Flooring
Abstract : Valuable hardwoods, such as oak, although renewable, present limitations in product realisation in terms of their cost and availability, often attributed to production waste and sub-optimal product design factors. The slicing technique facilitates the production of thin wood lamellae, minimising waste and ensuring optimal material conversion. READ MORE

3. Modelling and strength grading of structural timber and glulam lamellae on the basis of optical scanning and dynamic excitation
Abstract : Machine strength grading of sawn timber is a sawmill process in which density, modulus of elasticity (MOE) and bending or tensile strength are predicted such that the timber can be assigned to strength classes. The predictions of these properties are performed using one or several so-called indicating properties (IPs), which represent a board property, or combination of board properties, measured non-destructively. 4. A Gill Filament EROD Assay : Development and Application in Environmental Monitoring
Abstract : A gill filament-based assay for the cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A)-catalysed activity ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) was developed in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and applied to Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus), Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), saithe (Pollachius virens), and spotted wolffish (Anarhichas minor). Exposure to waterborne β-naphthoflavone (βNF; 10-6 M) induced branchial EROD activity in all species but the spotted wolffish. READ MORE

5. On the lateral organisation of the thylakoid membrane
Abstract : In this work the lateral heterogeneity of the thylakoid membrane was investigated by quantifying the amount of photosystem I (PSI), photosystem II (PSII) and some PSII complexes and PSII proteins in different domains of the thylakoid. Grana, grana core, grana margins and stroma lamellae + end fractions were obtained by sonication and separation in a non-detergent, aqueous polymer two-phase system. READ MORE
