1. Land Mine Detection using Dual-Band Electro-Optical Sensing
Abstract : This thesis addresses the detection of buried and partially occluded land mines using electro-optical sensing. According to the Red Cross approximately 10000 people are killed and another 30000 are injured each year in mine related accidents. READ MORE

2. Beyond the Minefield : Mining, Development, and Open Moments in Northern Sweden
Abstract : In recent years mining has taken centre stage in rural development. In part, this is a consequence of the ‘green transition’, where the demand for minerals to develop new energy systems is increasing dramatically. READ MORE

In Sweden, an early and important activity with large potential impact was the mining and smelting of iron, copper and silver ores over the last ~800 years. READ MORE

5. Heat and water transfer for lacquer drying and thermal signatures : modelling, simulation and experiment
Abstract : The coupled phenomenon of heat and water transfer is essential in many scientific and industrial problems. This thesis focuses this phenomenon on two areas; lacquer drying and thermal signatures. Simulations of physical phenomena may in some cases replace extensive experimental investigations, which may be complicated and expensive. READ MORE
