1. Machine Learning-Based Prediction Models and Threat Detection for Lane-Keeping Assistance
Abstract : Traffic accidents have been an ongoing problem for over a century and many efforts have been made to improve traffic safety. Historically, the focus has been on passive safety with innovations, such as crumpling zones, three-point seat belts, and airbags, that aim to mitigate the impact of collisions. READ MORE

2. Key Technologies in Low-cost Integrated Vehicle Navigation Systems
Abstract : Vehicle navigation systems incorporate on-board sensors/signal receivers and provide necessary positioning and guidance information for land, marine, airborne and space vehicles. Among different navigation solutions, the Global Positioning System (GPS) and an Inertial Navigation System (INS) are two basic navigation systems. READ MORE

3. Nonlinear Filtering Methods in Road Geometry Estimation
Abstract : Advanced driver assistance systems require information about the traffic scene of which the road geometry is an important part. In this thesis we use nonlinear filtering methods to estimate the shape of the road ahead of a host vehicle by fusing measurements of lane markings obtained from a camera and measurements of moving vehicles and barriers obtained from a radar-camera fusion system. 4. Deep photometry of galaxies : to see or not to see /Magnus Näslund
Abstract : The edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 4565 and the distant galaxy cluster MS2255.7+2039 have been studied at optical wavelengths with deep photometry using the 2.56 m Nordic Optical Telescope on La Palma.By careful data reductions we traced the surface brightness of NGC 4565 to faint levels. 5. Advanced Antenna Systems for Fully Polarimetric Radar in Automotive Scenario
Abstract : The increasing dependence on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) highlights the critical need for fast target recognition, effective collision avoidance, cruise control, lane assistance, etc. This necessitates a significant advancement in sensor technology, particularly for accurate target classification and road surface sensing.
