  1. 21. Performance Analysis and Optimization via Simulation

    University dissertation from Department of Communication Systems, Lund University

    Author : Anders Svensson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1996]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; simulation; performance analysis; load sharing; mathematical model formalism; real-time control; design; Telecommunication engineering; modular optimization; circuit switched networks; Telekommunikationsteknik;

    Abstract : A large amount of scientific work has been carried out to enhance the methods used for design and control of technical systems. For many of these systems, the main objective is to utilize the limited resources in an optimal way. Different simulation techniques have, in many cases, been successfully applied to the analysis. 2. 22. SCALING UP RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES - The role of resource mobilisation in the growth of technological innovation systems

    University dissertation from Department of Communication Systems, Lund University

    Author : Kersti Karltorp; [2014]
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; resource mobilisation.; scaling up technologies; Wind power; technological innovation system; biorefineries;

    Abstract : Rapid and large-scale diffusion of renewable energy technologies is needed to avoid severe climate changes that would dramatically affect the conditions for human life on Earth. To scale up these technologies involves technological development, but also the alteration of structures that are locked-in to established socio-technical systems. READ MORE

  3. 23. Added value from biomass by broader utilization of fuels and CHP plants

    University dissertation from Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Author : Christer Gustavsson; Karlstads universitet.; [2016]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biofuels; bioeconomy; pyrolysis; gasification; leaching; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Abstract : The present work, where additional value-creating processes in existing combined heat and power (CHP) structures have been examined, is motivated by a political- and consumer-driven strive towards a bioeconomy and a stagnation for the existing business models in large parts of the CHP sector.The research is based on cases where the integration of flash pyrolysis for co-production of bio-oil, co-gasification for production of fuel gas and synthetic biofuels as well as leaching of extractable fuel components in existing CHP plants have been simulated. 4. 24. Technical and Economic Conditions for Efficient Implementation of CO2 Capture - process design and operational strategies for power generation and process industries

    University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; Gothenburg

    Author : Stefanìa Òsk Gardarsdòttir; [2017]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Post-combustion; CCS; chemical absorption; dynamic modeling; industrial sources; CO2 capture and storage; variable electricity generation;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the operational parameters of fossil-based power generation and industrial processes in future energy systems that have stringent constraints on CO2 emissions, and, consequently, large shares of renewable energy. CO2 capture and storage, which is the focus of this work, is required for power and industrial processes that emit CO2. READ MORE

  5. 25. Systems Engineering for Computing Systems at Accelerator based Research Facilities

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Thilo Friedrich; KTH.; [2017]
