  1. 1. Chemical Structure and Physical Properties of Organic-Inorganic Metal Halide Materials for Solid State Solar Cells

    Author : Majid Safdari; James M. Gardner; Timothy Kelly; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perovskite; Solar cells; Organic-inorganic lead halide; Dimensionality; Bandgap; X-ray diffraction; X-ray spectroscopy.; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : AbstractMethylammonium lead (II) iodide has recently attracted considerable interest which may lead to substantial developments of efficient and inexpensive industrial photovoltaics. The application of this material as a light-absorbing layer in solid-state solar cells leads to impressive efficiency of over 22% in laboratory devices. READ MORE

  2. 2. Neutron spectroscopy studies of vibrational and diffusional dynamics in organometal halide and oxyhydride perovskites

    Author : Rasmus Lavén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metal halide perovskites; perovskites; phonons; quasielastic neutron scattering; inelastic neutron scattering; oxyhydrides; hydrogen dynamics.; diffusion;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with inelastic and quasielastic neutron scattering studies on the dynamical properties of the organometal halide perovskite system MA1-xFAxPbI3 (MA = methylammonium; FA = formamidinium) and of the layered perovskite-type oxyhydride SrVO2H. These materials systems are of high interest for their excellent photovoltaic performance (MA1-xFAxPbI3) and hydride-ion conductivity (SrVO2H) and concomitant promise for various technological devices; however, the local structure and dynamics underpinning these materials properties remain unclear. 3. 3. At the heart of Quantum Materials: Magnetism as a means and an end from a muon perspective

    Author : Konstantinos Papadopoulos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magnetism; ion dynamics; phase transitions; muon spectroscopy; correlated systems; quantum materials;

    Abstract : Functional materials are at the center of solid state physics research and technological innovation in our era. In order to create (semi)autonomous, high precision and lightning-fast devices it is necessary to explore, modify and control the intrinsic properties of matter. READ MORE

  4. 4. CVD and ALD in the Bi-Ti-O system

    Author : Mikael Schuisky; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Halide-CVD; ALD; Bismuth titanate; Bi4Ti3O12; Titanium oxide; TiO2; Bismuthoxide; Bi2O2.33; Epitaxy; QCM.; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Bismuth titanate Bi4Ti3O12, is one of the bismuth based layered ferroelectric materials that is a candidate for replacing the lead based ferroelectric materials in for instance non-volatile ferroelectric random access memories (FRAM). This is due to the fact that the bismuth based ferroelectrics consists of pseudo perovskite units sandwiched in between bismuth oxide layers, which gives them a better fatigue nature. READ MORE

  5. 5. Design of new materials with crystal structure-related properties : The role of lone pair cations

    Author : Eleni Mitoudi Vagourdi; Mats Johnsson; Vadim Kessler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Crystal structure determination; New oxohalide compounds; Lone-pair electrons; X-ray diffraction; Physical properties; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Non-centrosymmetry and low-dimensional arrangements, e.g. chains or layers, are very attractive structural characteristics of crystalline compounds since they are linked to some physical properties including nonlinear optical activity, ferroelectricity and magnetic frustration.
