  1. 1. Influence of liquid diffusion on the performance of polymer materials in industrial applications

    Author : Stefanie Römhild; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lars Berglund; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LCP; Vectra A950; thermoset resin; FRP; diffusion; disclination; annealing; lining; bonding; long-term properties in water; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : Diffusion of liquids into and through polymers is an important factor that negatively may influence the durability or lifetime of a polymer structure used in industrial applications. In this work two types of polymers, a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP, Vectra A950) and various thermoset resins as used in fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) process equipment were studied with regard to barrier properties, chemical resistance and long-term performance. 4. 4. Development of Natural Mineral Composites for Low-Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    Author : Chen Xia; Andrew R. Martin; Peter Lund; Yongdan Li; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural hematite; Natural rare-earth; LT-SOFCs; composite electrolytes; material characterization; conductivity; electrochemical performance.; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Abstract : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have attracted growing attention worldwide because of their high conversion efficiency and low emissions when paired with clean fuel sources. Currently, reducing the temperature of SOFC to a low-temperature (LT) range is a mainstream trend of SOFC research. READ MORE

  5. 5. Electrochemical investigations on lipid cubic phases

    Author : Mohammad Yaser Khani Meynaq; Britta Lindholm-Sethson; Solomon Tesfalidet; Ehud M. Landau; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Monoolein; Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy; lipid cubic phase; ionic interaction; biofuel cell; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) was used to develop a novel methodology for studying ionic interaction with lipids arranged in a lipid cubic phase (LCP). Studying different types of ions, both cations and anions, validated the method. READ MORE
