21. Novel Methods for Sampling, Characterization and Analysis of Airborne Street Particles in a Health Perspective
Abstract : Over the last decades, there has been much attention on air quality, especially in urban environments. A significant factor effecting the air quality in the urban environment is airborne particulate matter (PM). Long-term exposure to PM causes increased risk for heart disease, decreased lung function, exacerbation of asthma, and lung cancer. READ MORE

22. Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy - Risk Stratification and Long-Term Outcome
Abstract : Heart failure is a condition that will affect 2-3% of the population. Around one third of the patients have a decreased LVEF and a widened QRS complex as a sign of ventricular dyssynchrony. CRT has emerged as a treatment that reduces morbidity, mortality and improve functional status in this population. READ MORE

23. Applications of Vectorcardiography for Diagnosis and Risk Stratification in Subpopulations at Risk for Life-Threatening Arrhythmias
Abstract : Introduction: Vectorcardiography, or 3-dimensional electrocardiography is a tool which can be used to identify subtle changes in the electrical forces of the heart, and which can be applied to atrial depolarization, ventricular depolarization and ventricular repolarization for prognostic and diagostic purposes. Methods: Kor’s regression-related and quasi orthogonal methods was used to derive vectorcardiographic parameters from the 12-lead electrocardiogram and applied to a cohort of cryptogenic stroke patients to assess atrial fibrillation, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients to assess for ventricular arrhythmias, applied with right-precordial directed quasi orthogonal method to arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy (ARVC/D) patients for diagnosis, and applied to ventricular repolarization only to patients with genotype-positive/phenotype-negative Long QT2 syndrome (KNCH2 mutation) to assess for cardiac events. 24. The balance between under- and over-immunosuppression after heart transplantation with emphasis on acute cellular rejection and chronic kidney disease. Experiences from Skåne University Hospital in Lund 1988-2010
Abstract : Background and aims:Heart transplantation (HT) constitutes the ultimate treatment choice for end-stage heart failure. Following HT, patients require life-long immunosuppressive treatment to prevent allograft rejection. READ MORE

25. Clinical and Preclinical Lung Transplantation in the aspects of improving outcome
Abstract : Lung transplantation (LTx) is an established therapeutic option for end-stage pulmonary disease. However, it remains restricted by donor lung scarcity. READ MORE
