6. Laboratory and Stellar Spectra in High Resolution: Studies of Fe, Pt and Tl in Peculiar Stars
Abstract : The near-infrared spectrum of upsilon Sagittarii has been registered using the SOFIN high resolution spectrometer on the Nordic Optic Telescope, La Palma. For the first time 4f-5g transitions of Fe II in any astrophysical spectrum have been identified. READ MORE

7. Atrial Fibrillation. Modulation of the atrial fibrillatory frequency. A non-invasive approach
Abstract : Aim: To non-invasively detect and explore the changes in atrial fibrillatory cycle length (i.e. changes in the atrial refractory period) in humans with chronic atrial fibrillation (CAF) following autonomic modulation and pharmacological intervention. READ MORE

8. Global sequence and dispersion of ventricular repolarization: In vivo validation of non-invasive parameters using monophasic action potential mapping technique
Abstract : The purposes are to validate the noninvasive parameters, QT interval, QT dispersion, Tpeak-Tend interval, and the activation recovery time (ART) for estimation of global dispersion of ventricular repolarization (DVR), and to investigate the changes of repolarization sequence and DVR by altered ventricular pacing sites. The material consisted of 12 patients (Study I) and two series healthy pigs with 10 in each (Studies II and III; Studies IV and V). READ MORE

9. The oesophageal route in clinical electrocardiology
Abstract : The subject of this thesis is the clinical use of the oesophageal electrode in electrocardiology. The three areas covered are oesophageal electro- cardiography, the biophysics of transoesophageal atrial stimulation (TAS) and the clinical utility of TAS. The literature is reviewed with respect to these areas. READ MORE

10. Observations of Interatrial Conduction in Healthy Individuals Using Signal-averaged P-wave ECG: A Clinical Perspective
Abstract : Disturbances of interatrial conduction are linked to supraventricular arrhythmias. Previous studies have shown that these disturbances can be detected non-invasively as distinctive appearances of the orthogonal P wave using signal-averaged P-wave analysis (PSAECG). READ MORE
