  1. 1. Traffic Analysis, Modeling and Their Applications in Energy-Constrained Wireless Sensor Networks : On Network Optimization and Anomaly Detection

    Author : Qinghua Wang; Tingting Zhang; Stefan Pettersson; Youzhi Xu; Yan Zhang; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wireless sensor network; traffic analysis; network optimization; anomaly detection; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : Wireless sensor network (WSN) has emerged as a promising technology thanks to the recent advances in electronics, networking, and information processing. A wide range of WSN applications have been proposed such as habitat monitoring, environmental observations and forecasting systems, health monitoring, etc. READ MORE

  2. 2. The Bacillus subtilis GlpP protein, antitermination and mRNA stability

    Author : Elisabeth Glatz; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microbiology; leader sequence; glpD; GlpP; catabolite repression; mRNA stability; Bacillus subtilis; antiterminator protein; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi;

    Abstract : Bacillus subtilis can grow on glycerol or glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) as the sole carbon and energy source. The glpD gene encodes G3P dehydrogenase which is required for the catabolism of glycerol and G3P. READ MORE

  3. 3. Monoglyceride Lipase and Hormone-Sensitive Lipase - Molecular and structural aspects

    Author : Marie Karlsson; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; genomic organisation; baculovirus-insect cells; catalytic triad; alfa beta hydrolase fold; tissue distribution; cDNA sequence; lipolysis; adipocyte; monoglyceride lipase; hormone-sensitive lipase; chromosomal localisation; Clinical biology; Klinisk biologi;

    Abstract : Triglycerides in the adipocyte are hydrolysed by means of three consecutive reactions through the combined action of two lipases: hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) and monoglyceride lipase (MGL). HSL catalyses the first and rate-limiting step, i.e. READ MORE

  4. 4. A Genetic Survey of the Pathogenic Parasite Trypanosoma cruzi

    Author : Anh-Nhi Tran; Lena Åslund; John Kelly; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular genetics; Trypanosoma cruzi; Chagas ; gene discovery; EST; sequencing; DGC3; repeats; gene family; CL Brener; trypanothione synthetase; TcTRS locus; alleles; polymorphism; RNA-binding protein; TcPTB; stage-specific expression; Genetik; Genetics; Genetik; medicinsk genetik; Medical Genetics;

    Abstract : Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas´ disease, is an evolutionarily ancient species with distinct biological and immunological characteristics. A fundamental understanding of the basic biology of the parasite is necessary in order to develop reliable therapeutic and prophylactic agents against T. cruzi. We have, as a part of the T. 5. 5. Translational regulation of genes in salmonella typhimurium by vitamin B12

    Author : Solveig Ravnum; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Transational Control; Salmonella typhimurium; Vitamin B12; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Abstract : In this thesis I have studied the mechanism by which vitamin B12 regulates the expression of the cob operon and the btuB gene in Salmonella typhimurium. The cob operon encodes most of the 25 genes required for the de novo synthesis of vitamin B12, and the butB gene encodes the outer membrane protein needed for transport of exogenous vitamin B12 into the cell.
