  1. 1. Static Power Reduction and Estimation in CMOS Circuits Considering Emerging Leakage Mechanisms

    Author : Mindaugas Drazdziulis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; subthreshold; CMOS; wake-up time; power gating; gate leakage; VLSI;

    Abstract : Due to semiconductor technology advancements, the static power dissipation caused by leakage currents in CMOS circuits is growing at a much faster rate than dynamic power; the dominant power component. As a result, controlling and limiting static power becomes as crucial as controlling dynamic power. READ MORE

  2. 2. Low-Power Clocking and Circuit Techniques for Leakage and Process Variation Compensation

    Author : Martin Hansson; Atila Alvandpour; Ram Krishnamurthy; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-power; resonant clocking; multi-GHz; CMOS; leakage tolerance; low-leakage techniques; process variation; process variation compensation; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Over the last four decades the integrated circuit industry has evolved in a tremendous pace. This success has been driven by the scaling of device sizes leading to higher and higher integration capability, which have enabled more functionality and higher performance. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Fluid Power Piston Pumps : With Special Reference to Flow Ripple Reduction

    Author : Maria Pettersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Among the major disadvantages of fluid power systems, leakage and an unpleasant sound level can be mentioned. Both drawbacks increase with increasing pressure ripple. Functional problems may be caused, even fatigue and breakdown. A main source of noise is hydrostatic pumps. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design and Optimization Considerations of Medium-Frequency Power Transformers in High-Power DC-DC Applications

    Author : Amin Bahmani; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nanocrystalline-Magnetic Core; High-Power Isolated DC-DC Converter; Solid-State Transformers; Leakage Inductance; Isolation Requirements; Medium-Frequency Power Transformer;

    Abstract : Recently, power electronic converters are considered as one of the enabling technologies that can address many technical challenges in future power grids from the generation phase to the transmission and consequently distribution at different voltage levels. In contrast to the medium-power converters (5 to 100 kW) which have beenessentially investigated by the automotive and traction applications, megawatt and medium-voltage range isolated converters with a several kilohertz isolation stage,also called solid-state transformers (SST), are still in an expansive research phase. 5. 5. Low-Power Multi-GHz Circuit Techniques for On-chip Clocking

    Author : Martin Hansson; Atila Alvandpour; Per Larsson-Edefors; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CMOS; low-power; high-performance; flip-flop; clocking; leakage-compensation; process-variation; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : The impressive evolution of modern high-performance microprocessors have resulted in chips with over one billion transistors as well as multi-GHz clock frequencies. As the silicon integrated circuit industry moves further into the nanometer regime, three of the main challenges to overcome in order for continuing CMOS technology scaling are; growing standby power dissipation, increasing variations in process parameters, and increasing power dissipation due to growing clock load and circuit complexity.
