1. MULTIFOCAL SPHERICAL FISH LENSES
Abstract : Vision is an important source of information for many animals. The lens plays a central role in the visual pathway and hence the ecology of these animals. Fish have spherically shaped crystalline lenses that contain a gradient of refractive index. Like all refracting elements, lens performance depends on the wavelength of the refracted light. READ MORE

2. Fish Lenses : Anatomy and Optics
Abstract : I have investigated some of the biological regulatory mechanisms governing the development of crystalline lenses. I used fish as model animals because they possess optically interesting lenses, while the geometrical simplicity of fish lenses allows for studies that are difficult or impossible with the lenses of other animals. 3. Congenital cataract and contact lenses
Abstract : Purpose: Having a child with congenital cataract is associated with a huge responsibility for the parents in terms of the outcome of their child’s visual development. If the cataract is not removed the condition will lead to lifelong visual impairment and the surgery is preferably preformed within the first three months of life. READ MORE

4. On millimeter and submillimeter wave focal plane arrays implemented with MEMS waveguide switches
Abstract : This thesis presents research towards enabling micromachined millimeter and submillimeter wave focal plane arrays (FPAs). The FPAs operate under the following principle: a switch network consisting of microelectromechanical (MEMS) switches, integrated with micromachined waveguides, is used to feed an array of antenna elements, located in the focal plane of a high-gain quasi-optical system. 5. How visual ergonomics interventions influence health and performance - with an emphasis on non-computer work tasks
Abstract : Visual ergonomics evaluations and interventions were performed on non-computer work tasks at recycling facilities, post sorting facilities and operating theatres. The results can to some extent be applicable to other professions and workplaces. READ MORE
