  1. 1. Moisture properties of self-levelling flooring compounds

    Author : Anders Anderberg; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fukttransport; secondary emissions; SLC; alkali; self-levelling; moisture transport; diffusion coefficient; självnivellerande golv; flooring screed; fuktegenskaper; flooring compound; sorption isotherm;

    Abstract : Self-levelling flooring compounds (SLC) are used to level substrates (mainly concrete slabs) before applying final floor coverings. Although it is an extensively used product, only limited research has so far been published concerning their moisture properties. READ MORE

  2. 2. A height datum for Uganda based on a gravimetric quasigeoid model and GNSS/levelling

    Author : Ronald Ssengendo; Lars Sjoberg; Anthony Gidudu; Hossein Nahavandchi; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geoid model; GNSS levelling; KTH method; Uganda; Uganda Vertical Network; Quasigeoid model; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Abstract : This study is devoted to the determination of a high resolution gravimetric geoid model for Uganda based on the optimal combination of terrestrial and satellite gravity anomalies using the method of Least Squares Modification of Stokes’ formula with additive corrections. Specifically the study investigates the current status of the existing Uganda Vertical Network relative to the requirements of a modern height datum and includes a detailed evaluation and validation of terrestrial gravity data, several digital elevation models and some recent global geopotential models. 3. 3. Studies of moisture and alkalinity in self-levelling flooring compounds

    Author : Anders Anderberg; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; alkalinity; SLC; floor screed; moisture transport; self-levelling flooring compound; Material technology; diffusion coefficient; materialteknik; Materiallära; secondary emissions; sorption isotherm;

    Abstract : In recent decades there has been an increasing interest in the indoor environment and its connections with public health. One important topic discussed has been the relation between the moisture in buildings and health. Cementitious materials, when cast, contain excess water since this is necessary for workability and for flow properties. READ MORE

  4. 4. Bending the Kuznets Curve - Wrenching and Levelling Forces during Agricultural Transformation in Taiwan and Chile

    Author : Martin Andersson; Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Chile; Taiwan; initial conditions; agricultural transformation; wrenching and levelling forces; the Kuznets Curve; Economic growth; income distribution; Social and economic history; Ekonomisk och social historia;

    Abstract : What are the effects of growth on equality in a long-term perspective? What are the effects of different patterns of equality on subsequent growth? And why are these questions relevant for the understanding of economic development? These are the overriding questions posed in the dissertation. They are addressed in the context of long-term change from economic backwardness to modern economic growth by examining the processes of agricultural transformation of two successful growth achievers -- Taiwan and Chile. 5. 5. Levelling vagueness : a study of cultural diversity in an international project group

    Author : Ester Barinaga; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Imagine one Brit, one Dutch, two North Americans, one Spaniard and three Swedes setting up a joint international research project. Their areas of expertise vary: sociology, labour law and organisational theory. The scene is taking place in a hotel conference room in Uppsala. The North Americans are tired from the long trip and the jet-lag. READ MORE
