  1. 1. Pre-harvest factors affecting quality and shelf-life in raspberries and blackberries (Rubus spp. L.)

    University dissertation from ; Department of Horticulture, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

    Author : Liaqat Ali; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet.; [2012]
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Fruit including berries have been demonstrated to exhibit a broad spectrum of benefits including protection against cardiovascular, neurological, and lung diseases, as well as having antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti- diabetic and anti-aging properties. These protective effects are reported to be due to their high content of bioactive compounds, such as vitamin C, vitamin E, phenolic acids, ellagitannins, flavonoids and carotenoids. READ MORE

  2. 2. Chlorine Cycling in Terrestrial Environments

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Malin Montelius; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2016]

    Abstract : Chlorinated organic compounds (Clorg) are produced naturally in soil. Formation and degradation of Clorg affect the chlorine (Cl) cycling in terrestrial environments and chlorine can be retained or released from soil. READ MORE

  3. 3. Probabilistic Models for Species Tree Inference and Orthology Analysis

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Ikram Ullah; KTH.; KTH.; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phylogenetics; phylogenomics; gene tree; species tree; expectation maximization; mixture model; dynamic programming; markov chain monte carlo; PrIME; JPrIME; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : A phylogenetic tree is used to model gene evolution and species evolution using molecular sequence data. For artifactual and biological reasons, a gene tree may differ from a species tree, a phenomenon known as gene tree-species tree incongruence. Assuming the presence of one or more evolutionary events, e.g. READ MORE

  4. 4. Set Constraints for Local Search

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Magnus Ågren; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; SICS.; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Computer science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Datavetenskap; Datavetenskap; Computer Science; Computer science; combinatorial problems; constraint-based local search; constraint-directed search; constraint programming; incremental algorithms; monadic existential second-order logic; neighbourhoods; penalty; set variables; set constraints; variable conflicts;

    Abstract : Combinatorial problems are ubiquitous in our society and solving such problems efficiently is often crucial. One technique for solving combinatorial problems is constraint-based local search. Its compositional nature together with its efficiency on large problem instances have made this technique particularly attractive. READ MORE
