  1. 1. Light for a brighter morrow : paving the way for sustainable light-emitting devices

    Author : Petter Lundberg; Ludvig Edman; Thomas Wågberg; Magnus Jonsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Artificial Light; Organic Electronics; Photophysics; Light-emitting Electrochemical Cells; Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence; Host-Guest; Sustainability; Solution Processing; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : We live in an artificially lit world, where light enhances our productivity and improves our quality of life. Today our appetite for light is stronger than ever, and emerging light-emitting technologies do not just replace the classical incandescent light bulb, they also open up for a new world of applications. 2. 2. Polymer Light Emitting Devices : A study on how the electrode-polymer interface affects the performance of polymer light emitting devices

    Author : Per Bröms; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The research reported in this thesis is concerned with a new type of semiconductor device that can be realised by using thin films of semiconducting polymers, or conjugated polymers. In this thesis only one family of these conjugated polymers is studied, namely poly-(para-phenylene vinylene) and derivatives thereof. READ MORE

  3. 3. Polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells : Utilizing doping for generation of light

    Author : Piotr Matyba; Ludvig Edman; Qibing Pei; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract :     The current implementation of conjugated polymers (“conducting plastics”) in a wide range of devices promises to bring the vision of a new generation of flexible, efficient and low-cost applications to reality. Plastic lightemitting devices in the form of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) are projected to be particularly close to the market in applications such as large area and conformable illumination panels and high-performance thin displays. 4. 4. Functional and Flexible Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

    Author : Amir Asadpoordarvish; Ludvig Edman; Jun Gao; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; all-ambient fabrication; ambient-air lifetime; encapsulation; flexible; light-emitting electrochemical cells; light-emitting paper; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The introduction of artificial illumination has brought extensive benefits to mankind, and during the last years we have seen a tremendous progress in this field with the introduction of the energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) and the high-contrast organic LED display. These high-end technologies are, however, produced using costly and complex processes, and it is anticipated that the next big thing in the field will be the advent of a low-cost and “green” illumination technology, which can be fabricated in a cost- and material-efficient manner using non-toxic and abundant raw materials, and which features attractive form factors such as flexibility, robustness and light-weight. 5. 5. Light-Emitting Electrochemical Transistors

    Author : Jiang Liu; Magnus Berggren; Isak Engquist; Qibing Pei; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Since the discovery of conductive polymers in 1977, the implementation of organic conjugated materials in electronic applications has been of great interest in both industry and academia. The goal of organic electronics is to realize large-area, inexpensive and mechanically-flexible electronic applications. READ MORE
