1. Keep it rolling : Straight-line orientation in South African ball-rolling dung beetles
Abstract : Representing a substantial range and variety in morphological and ecological niche, found on all continents of the globe (except for the Antarctic), the ball-rolling dung beetles provide an excellent model in which to study the heading direction network and the factors by which it is influenced. As soon as a ball-rolling dung beetle has located a fresh dung pile to feed on, it immediately starts shaping a piece of dung into a ball, rolling it away from the dung pat in as straight of a trajectory as the terrain allows. 2. Environmental preferences among steel stakeholders
Abstract : Emissions of carbon dioxide, dioxins, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter as well as use of non-renewable resources and energy are some important sustainability challenges for the Swedish steel industry. Much effort has been made, mainly by technical solutions, which to a high degree have decreased the emissions during the last 30 years. READ MORE

3. Secondary absorbed dose distributions and radiation quality in light ion therapy
Abstract : Radiotherapy with light ions offers the possibility of achieving a dose distribution which is highly conformed to the target volume while sparing normal tissues. For ions heavier than protons, an additional advantage is the increased Relative Biological Effectiveness (RBE) as compared to conventional photon and electron beams. READ MORE

4. Light scattering and absorption in pigmented coatings : Theory and experiments
Abstract : Radiative transfer models are used to describe optical properties of polymericthick films containing spherical inhomogeneities with sizes comparable to thewavelength of the incident radiation. From Lorenz-Mie theory various parametersrelated to elastic light scattering and absorption by single particles are calculated, i.e. READ MORE

5. Light-weighting Methodology in Rail Vehicle Design through Introduction of Load Carrying Sandwich Panels
Abstract : Lightweight design in rail vehicles has been important for quite some time. Structures have been optimised to fulfill their purpose and cut unnecessary weight to reach allowable axle loads. Classically this is done by using steel, thin-walled structures, throughout the car body, or, alternatively, power-pressed aluminum profiles. READ MORE
