1. Photosynthetic Oxygen Evolution - EPR studies of the manganese cluster of photosystem II
Abstract : In this thesis, a new electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) signal from photosystem II is presented. The signal is shown to originate from the S0 oxidation state of the oxygen-evolving complex (OEC). READ MORE

2. Proteomic profiles and gene expressions in the symbiotically competent cyanobacterium Nostoc sp. PCC 73102
Abstract : Nostoc PCC 73102 is an evolutionary important cyanobacterium with multiple phenotypic traits and symbiotic capacities. Based on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, a proteomic approach was developed in order to obtain protein profiles of this symbiotically competent cyanobacterium during three trophic types/life stages: free-living photo-autotrophic and diazotrophic growth conditions, dark heterotrophic conditions and hormogonium formation. 3. The chloroplast talks : Insights into the language of the chloroplast in Arabidopsis
Abstract : The chloroplast originates from an endosymbiotic event 1.5 billion years ago, when a free living photosynthetic bacteria was engulfed by a eukaryotic host. The chloroplastic genome has through evolution lost many genes to the nuclear genome of the host. READ MORE

4. Chemical circuitry in the visual system of the fruitfly, Drosophila melanogaster
Abstract : Signal processing in the visual system is mediated by classic neurotransmission and neuropeptidergic modulatory pathways. In Dipteran insects, especially in the fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster, the morphology of the visual system is very well described. READ MORE
