  1. 21. Functional and Flexible Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

    Author : Amir Asadpoordarvish; Ludvig Edman; Jun Gao; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; all-ambient fabrication; ambient-air lifetime; encapsulation; flexible; light-emitting electrochemical cells; light-emitting paper; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The introduction of artificial illumination has brought extensive benefits to mankind, and during the last years we have seen a tremendous progress in this field with the introduction of the energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) and the high-contrast organic LED display. These high-end technologies are, however, produced using costly and complex processes, and it is anticipated that the next big thing in the field will be the advent of a low-cost and “green” illumination technology, which can be fabricated in a cost- and material-efficient manner using non-toxic and abundant raw materials, and which features attractive form factors such as flexibility, robustness and light-weight. 2. 22. Implementing Functional Generic Programming

    Author : Ulf Norell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Functional generic programming extends functional programming with the ability to parameterize functions on the structure of a datatype. This allows a programmer to implement certain algorithms once and for all, instead of re-implementing them for each datatype they apply to. READ MORE

  3. 23. Correlating Nanostructure and Electronic Properties of Organic Semiconductors by Electron Microscopy

    Author : Gustav Persson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 3D; transmission electron microscopy; clustering; molecular dopant; nanostructure; structure-property correlation; visualisation; concentration; organic semiconductor;

    Abstract : Organic semiconductors enable fabrication and efficient processing of electronic devices with light weight, mechanical flexibility and tuneable properties. Despite significant progress in the last decades, efficiencies and long-term stabilities of these systems still need to be improved. READ MORE

  4. 24. Chemical Doping of Conjugated Polymers for Thermoelectric Applications

    Author : Mariavittoria Craighero; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mechanical properties; conjugated polymers; solid-state order; organic thermoelectrics; chemical doping;

    Abstract : The ongoing development of interconnected and wearable small devices, which together make up the so-called Internet of Things, is driving a rising need for autonomous and on-site energy supplies. Heat, an abundant and often wasted energy source, can be harnessed through thermoelectric generators that can directly convert heat into electricity. READ MORE

  5. 25. 3D-printing for Aerospace : Fatigue Behaviour of Additively Manufactured Titanium

    Author : Magnus Kahlin; Johan Moverare; Hans Ansell; Gianni Nicoletto; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; additive manufacturing; fatigue; post processing; crack growth; Ti6Al4V; aerospace; additiv tillverkning; 3D-printing; flyg; utmattning; titan;

    Abstract : Laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) and electron beam powder bed fusion (E-PBF) are two of the most common additive manufacturing (AM) methods which both provide the engineer with a great freedom of design.This means that parts with light weight, multifunctional applications and improved performance could be achieved through innovative design solutions which have attracted a lot of interest from the aerospace industry.
