1. Long-term Voltage Stability in Power Systems - Alleviating the Impact of Generator Current Limiters
Abstract : The main issues in this dissertation are the behaviour of current limiters protecting synchronous generators, and the interactions that occur with other components in the power system during a voltage instability. The importance of these limiters for the voltage stability is shown both in the analysis of small models and in the simulations of larger networks. READ MORE

2. Anti-windup and Control of Systems with Multiple Input Saturations : Tools, Solutions and Case Studies
Abstract : Control of linear systems with saturating actuators are considered and anti-windup compensators for multiple-input multiple-output systems, and robust, almost time-optimal controllers for double integrators with input amplitude saturations, are proposed.Windup effects are defined and anti-windup compensators aiming at minimizing the windup effects are proposed. 3. Development of SiC MESFET Based MMIC Technology
Abstract : A SiC MESFET based MMIC process has been successfully developed. This technology has its main potential in high power microwave circuits. It will offer the benefits of the high integration seen in GaAs MMIC at the same time as it will offer the benefits of the high voltage operation seen in Si LDMOS and Si BJTs. READ MORE

4. Experimental studies of materials migration in magnetic confinement fusion devices : Novel methods for measurement of macro particle migration, transport of atomic impurities and characterization of exposed surfaces
Abstract : During several decades of research and development in the field of Magnetically Confined Fusion (MCF) the preferred selection of materials for Plasma Facing Components (PFC) has changed repeatedly. Without doubt, endurance of the first wall will decide research availability and lifespan of the first International Thermonuclear Research Reactor (ITER). READ MORE

5. Material migration in tokamaks : Erosion-deposition patterns and transport processes
Abstract : Controlled thermonuclear fusion may become an attractive future electrical power source. The most promising of all fusion machine concepts is called a tokamak. The fuel, a plasma made of deuterium and tritium, must be confined to enable the fusion process. It is also necessary to protect the wall of tokamaks from erosion by the hot plasma. READ MORE
