1. Modeling and testing of line start permanent magnet motors
Abstract : This licentiate thesis describes the modeling and measurements performed with the aim of developing design guidelines for Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, LSPMSMs. LSPMSMs can offer higher efficiency than standard induction motors used in the industry today, especially for small motor sizes. 2. Run-Up Transient Analysis for Salient Pole Wound Field Synchronous Motors : Field winding and power electronics implications for a smoother and cooler asynchronous start
Abstract : Salient Pole Wound Field Synchronous Machines have better efficiency at full load than asynchronous machines of the same capability. Moreover, where asynchronous machines need inherently to draw a magnetizing current from the grid, Salient Pole Wound Field Synchronous Machines can work efficiently at unity power factor. READ MORE

3. Ultrasound Doppler Based In-Line Rheometry - Development, Validation and Application
Abstract : The trend within fluid industry is towards continuous production, leading to an increasing demand for new and improved methods that allow real-time monitoring of quality parameters and fast process control. The consistency and viscosity can be described by fluid rheology and are frequently used as quality control parameters. READ MORE

5. Using on-line simulation in UAV path planning
Abstract : In this thesis, we investigate the problem of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) path planning in search or surveillance mission, when some a priori information about the targets and the environment is available. A search operation that utilizes the available a priori information about the initial location of the targets, terrain data, and information from reasonable assumptions about the targets movement can in average perform better than a uniform search that does not incorporate this information.
