  1. 1. Correlations of Higher Order in Networks of Spiking Neurons

    Author : Stojan Jovanovic; Stefan Rotter; John Hertz; Jeanette Hällgren Kotaleski; Jean-Philippe Bouchard; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Neuronal network; oscillations; correlations; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : The topic of this dissertation is the study of the emergence of higher-order correlations in recurrentlyconnected populations of brain cells.Neurons have been experimentally shown to form vast networks in the brain. READ MORE

  2. 2. On Some Symmetric Lightweight Cryptographic Designs

    Author : Martin Ågren; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lightweight cryptography; integrity; authentication; symmetric cryptography; stream ciphers; block ciphers; Grain-128a; BEAN; KTANTAN; textsc{PRINTcipher}; FCSR combiner; related-key attack; linear cryptanalysis; linear correlations; invariant subspace attack.;

    Abstract : This dissertation presents cryptanalysis of several symmetric lightweight primitives, both stream ciphers and block ciphers. Further, some aspects of authentication in combination with a keystream generator is investigated, and a new member of the Grain family of stream ciphers, Grain-128a, with built-in support for authentication is presented. 3. 3. The Dark Side of Decentralized Target Tracking : Unknown Correlations and Communication Constraints

    Author : Robin Forsling; Fredrik Gustafsson; Gustaf Hendeby; Zoran Sjanic; Simon Julier; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Using sensors to observe real-world systems is important in many applications. A typical use case is target tracking, where sensor measurements are used to compute estimates of targets. Two of the main purposes of the estimates are to enhance situational awareness and facilitate decision-making. Hence, the estimation quality is crucial. READ MORE

  4. 4. Theoretical perspectives on ultrafast and non-linear spectroscopy

    Author : Emil Vinas Boström; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Non-linear optics; Ultrafast dynamics; Non-equilibrium Green s functions; Density functional theory; Multi-photon absorption; Second harmonic generation; Desorption dynamics; Auger decay; Charge-separation dynamics; Quantum Zeno effect; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Vinas Boström;

    Abstract : In this thesis we discuss a theoretical description of ultrafast and non-linear spectroscopy. Due to the high intensities and ultrashort pulse durations involved in such experiments, it is necessary to use an explicitly time-dependent formalism. READ MORE

  5. 5. Structure-Reactivity Correlations for Reactions of Palladium(II) and Platinum(IV) Complexes

    Author : Tiesheng Shi; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thiol; l-methionine; maleic acid; carboxylic acid; thioether; platinum IV ; palladium II ; linear free energy relationship; volumes of activation; structure-reactivity correlation; reduction; substitution; equilibria; kinetics; mechanism; glutathione; Animal physiology; Djurfysiologi;

    Abstract : The kinetics and mechanism for substitution reactions on tetraaquapalladium(II) by an extended series of thioethers, a great number of carboxylic acids, and olefins have been studied by use of UV-VIS, stopped-flow, and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and NMR spectroscopy. Second-order rate constants k and activation parameters (activation enthalpies, entropies, and volumes) for formation of monodentate 1:1 complexes have been determined. READ MORE
