21. Structure-Reactivity Correlations for Reactions of Palladium(II) and Platinum(IV) Complexes
Abstract : The kinetics and mechanism for substitution reactions on tetraaquapalladium(II) by an extended series of thioethers, a great number of carboxylic acids, and olefins have been studied by use of UV-VIS, stopped-flow, and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and NMR spectroscopy. Second-order rate constants k and activation parameters (activation enthalpies, entropies, and volumes) for formation of monodentate 1:1 complexes have been determined. READ MORE

22. Relations between soil organic carbon, soil structure and physical processes in an agricultural topsoil : The role of soil mineral constituents
Abstract : A better understanding of the interactions between soil organic carbon (SOC) and mineral constituents (e.g. clay and reactive oxide phases) and their consequences for soil structure and physical processes is important for assessing the potential for, and benefits of, carbon sequestration in arable soils. 23. Waves and instabilities in quantum plasmas
Abstract : The study of waves and instabilities in quantum plasmas is of fundamental importance for understanding collective interactions in superdense astrophysical objects, in high intense laser-plasma/solid-matter interactions, in microelectronic devices and metallic nanostructures. In dense quantum plasmas, there are new pressure laws associated with the Fermi-Dirac distribution functions and new quantum forces associated with the quantum Bohm potential and the Bohr magnetization involving electron ½ spin. 24. Nonlinear optimization approaches to H2-norm based LPV modelling and control
Abstract : To be able to analyze certain classes of non-linear systems, it is necessary to try to represent them as linear parameter varying systems or even as linear fractional representations. For linear parameter varying systems and linear fractional representations of systems there exists many advanced analysis methods such as IQC-analysis and μ-analysis. READ MORE

25. G-Convergence and Homogenization of some Sequences of Monotone Differential Operators
Abstract : This thesis mainly deals with questions concerning the convergence of some sequences of elliptic and parabolic linear and non-linear operators by means of G-convergence and homogenization. In particular, we study operators with oscillations in several spatial and temporal scales. READ MORE
