1. On the role of notch, numb and numblike in development and cancer
Abstract : The development of mutlicellualr organisms relies on a highly conserved signaling network, of which one of the key components is the Notch signaling pathway. The core Notch signaling pathway consists of receptors, ligands and an intracellular mediator. READ MORE

2. Black liquor gasification : experimental stability studies of smelt components and refractory lining
Abstract : Black liquors are presently combusted in recovery boilers where the inorganic cooking chemicals are recovered and the energy in the organic material is converted to steam and electricity. A new technology, developed by Chemrec AB, is black liquor gasification (BLG). READ MORE

3. Influence of liquid diffusion on the performance of polymer materials in industrial applications
Abstract : Diffusion of liquids into and through polymers is an important factor that negatively may influence the durability or lifetime of a polymer structure used in industrial applications. In this work two types of polymers, a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP, Vectra A950) and various thermoset resins as used in fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) process equipment were studied with regard to barrier properties, chemical resistance and long-term performance. 4. Transport Properties and Durability of LCP and FRP materials for process equipment
Abstract : This thesis focuses on transport properties and durability of liquid crystalline polymers (LCP)and fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) with regard to application in industrial process equipment. In the first part of the study the possibility of using a thermotropic LCP of type Vectra A950as lining material for FRP process equipment was investigated. 5. A Study on the Reaction between MgO Based Refractories and Slag-Towards the Development of Carbon-free Lining Material
Abstract : In present thesis, the fundamental studies on the reaction between MgO based refractories and slag were undertaken for the development of a carbon-free bonding MgO lining material. Alumina was selected as a potential binder material. Due to MgO-Al2O3 chemical reaction, the developed refractory was bonded by MgO·Al2O3 spinel phase. READ MORE
