  1. 16. Ruthenium-catalyzed redox reactions and lipase-catalyzed asymmetric transformations of alcohols

    Author : Michaela Edin; Jan-E. Bäckvall; Manfred T. Reetz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ruthenium; lipase; catalysis; alcohols; diols; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : The major part of this thesis describes the synthesis of enantiopure alcohols and diols by combining ruthenium-catalyzed redox reactions that lead to racemization or epimerization and lipase-catalyzed asymmetric trans-formations in one-pot.A mechanistic study of the unexpected facile formation of meso-diacetate products found in enzyme-catalyzed acetylations of alkanediols with Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB) was first performed. Abstract : Galactolipids: digalactosyldiglyceride (DGalDG), monogalactosyldiglyceride (MGalDG) and sulfoquinovosyldiglyceride (SQDG) are the major lipid components in thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts i.e. the site of photosynthesis in plants. READ MORE

  4. 19. Endocannabinoids and N-acylethanolamines in translational pain research : from monoacylglycerol lipase to muscle pain

    Author : Nazdar Ghafouri; Christopher J Fowler; Andrew SC Rice; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Monoacylglycerol lipase; endocannabinoid; palmitoylethanolamide; N-acylethanolamines; microdialysis; chronic widespread pain; muscle pain; trapezius;

    Abstract : In the early nineties cannabinoid receptors, the main target for Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of marijuana were identified. Shortly after their endogenous ligands, N-arachidonoylethanolamine (anandamide, AEA) and 2-diacylglycerol (2-AG) were characterized. READ MORE

  5. 20. Lipase catalysed reactions of terpenoids : formation of hemiacetal esters : resolution of cryptone and its transformation to cadinenes

    Author : Dan Isaksson; Fredrik Almqvist; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; terpenoid; lipase; resolution; hemiacetal; hemiacetal ester; enantioselective; synthesis; cryptone; cadinene; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : During attempted enzyme-catalysed resolution of sterically hindered secondary alcohols, hemiacetals and their esters were unexpectedly detected. Hemiacetal esters are reactive compounds that decompose to alcohol, aldehyde and acid under ordinary work-up conditions i.e. in contact with water, acid, or silica gel. READ MORE
