  1. 21. Liquid-Phase Exfoliation of Two-Dimensional Materials : Applications, deposition methods and printed electronics on paper

    Author : Viviane Forsberg; Magnus Norgren; Luis Miguel Pereira Nunes; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : molybdenum disulfide MoS2 ; transition metal dichalcogenide TMD ; thin films; inkjet printing; 2D inks; liquid-phase exfoliation; shear exfoliation; printed electronics; organic electronics; PEDOT:PSS; photoresponse; photocurrent; cathodoluminescence;

    Abstract : After the unprecedented success of graphene research, other materials that can also be exfoliated into thin layers, like Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), have also become the subjects of extensive studies. As one of the most promising methods for large scale production of such materials, liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE) has also been the subject of extensive research and is maturing as a field to the point that devices using additive manufacturing and printed nanosheets are often reported. 2. 22. Atomistic simulations of structural and dynamical properties of liquids under geometric constraints

    Author : Lorenzo Agosta; Alexander Lyubartsev; Marialore Sulpizi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; liquid; contraint; TiO2; surfaces; bio-inorganic; molecular dynamic; ab-initio; tight-binding; DFT; metadynamic; free energy; nanoparticles; water; amino acids; adsorption; mesophases; hexatic; smectic; triply periodic network; Fddd; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Abstract : The statistical-mechanical description of liquids represents a formidable problem in physic due to the absence of the analytical theory of the liquid state. Atomistic simulations represent a unique source of information in this respect and can be implemented in order address macroscopically measurable liquid properties, including its structure and dynamics, based on the information of the interactions between its constituent molecules. 3. 23. Optical Characterization and Optimization of Display Components : Some Applications to Liquid-Crystal-Based and Electrochromics-Based Devices

    Author : Iryna Valyukh; Claes-Göran Granqvist; Ewa Wäckelgård; Hans Arwin; Ola Hundery; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ellipsometry; liquid crystal; LCD; optical anizotropy; electrochromic; inverse problems; Optics; Optik; Optical physics; Optisk fysik; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik; Information Systems; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : This dissertation is focused on theoretical and experimental studies of optical properties of materials and multilayer structures composing liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and electrochromic (EC) devices. By applying spectroscopic ellipsometry, we have determined the optical constants of thin films of electrochromic tungsten oxide (WOx) and nickel oxide (NiOy), the films’ thickness and roughness. 4. 24. Ethanol from woodCellulase enzyme production

    Author : Zsolt Szengyel; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical technology and engineering; FPA measurement; acetic acid; furfural; non-volatile; volatile; inhibition; pH; carbon source; liquid; solid; softwood; hardwood; cellulases; production; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : Conversion of biomass to liquid fuels, such as ethanol, has been investigated during the past decades. First due to the oil crisis of the 1970s and lately because of concerns about greenhouse effect, ethanol has been found to be a suitable substitute for gasoline in transportation. READ MORE

  5. 25. Nanomechanical Studies and Applications of Cantilever Sensors

    Author : Sara Ghatnekar-Nilsson; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Physics; resonating; mass sensor; Young s modulus; CMOS; cantilevers; electron beam lithography; liquid;

    Abstract : Different aspects of cantilevers to be used as sensors have been studied. Silicon cantilevers have been fabricated and integrated on CMOS chips using low-energy electron beam lithography in order to reduce the irradiation damage to the circuits. The released and integrated cantilevers have been tested and used as mass sensors in air. READ MORE
