  2. 2. (In-)Stability of LiPF6-based Electrolytes for Lithium-ion Batteries

    Author : Susanne Wilken; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; FTIR; additives; Lithium batteries; Raman; electrolytes; thermal decomposition; NMR spectroscopy;

    Abstract : The state of the art lithium-ion batteries present in most portable electronics consist of the salt LiPF6, organic solvents such as ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate (commonly seen as EC/DMC), and finally, a number of additives - all components enclosed by different kinds of electrode chemistries.Despite their commercial success, all LiPF6 based electrolytes suffer from poor chemical and thermal stability. 3. 3. State-of-Health Estimation of Li-ion Batteries: Cycle Life Test Methods

    Author : Jens Groot; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EV; DVA; ICA; cycle life test; HEV; battery testing; State-of-health; battery model; PHEV; lithium-ion battery; impedance spectroscopy;

    Abstract : Despite a rapid development, cost, performance and durability of the energy storage system are still a hindrance for a wide commercialisation of heavy-duty hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to investigate how different load cycle properties affect the cycle life and ageing processes of Li-ion cells developed for use in HEVs. READ MORE

  4. 4. Investigation of HEV Li-ion Batteries for Lithium Recovery

    Author : Sravya Kosaraju; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : Automobile electrification is one of the technological developments that may establish aneco-friendly transport system by mitigating vehicle emissions, and hopefully lead to a lessfossil fuel-dependent society. Conservative forecasts predict four million electric cars onthe road by 2015 (Bernhart et al., 2012). READ MORE
