1. Remote Sensing and GIS : Applications for Groundwater Potential Assessment in Eritrea
Abstract : An integrated approach with remote sensing, GeographicInformation Systems (GIS) and more traditional fieldworktechniques was adopted to assess the groundwater potential inthe central highlands of Eritrea. Digitally enhanced colorcomposites and panchromatic images of Landsat TM and Spot wereinterpreted to produce thematic maps such as lithology andlineaments. READ MORE

2. Lithology of some Swedish eskers
Abstract : Three esker systems passing different bedrock areas are lithologically investigated. Mostparts of the eskers are of subglacial, subaquatic type. The existence of a preglacial furrowof the River Dalälven is proposed to be the cause of the longtransported lithologiesfound in the Badelunda esker adjacent to the furrow. READ MORE

3. Weichselian glaciations in the middle Notec River region, northwest Poland
Abstract : This thesis presents results of studies on the ice flow pattern and ice movement mechanism during the Weichselian glaciations in the middle Notec River area, NW Poland. A new lithostratigraphy of the study area has been established, based on correlation of stratigraphical position, clast lithology, fabrics and grain size composition of till units. READ MORE

4. Marginal behaviour of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet during its final termination and deglaciation over Northeastern Germany
Abstract : This thesis presents results from studies on geomorphology, lithostratigraphy and ice flow patterns during the final termination and deglaciation of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet in NE Germany. Ice flow patterns derived from till fabrics and glaciotectonical data indicate that short-lived marginal domes had formed during the advance and the retreat of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet in NE Germany. 5. Physical properties of coarse particles in till coupled to bedrock composition based on new 3D image analysis method
Abstract : The physical properties of the coarse fraction of the till (0.4 to 20 cm) and the surface boulders have been studied at two different sites in Sweden. READ MORE
