1. Integrated life cycle design : application to concrete multi-dwelling buildings
Abstract : This work examines the application of ILCD (Integrated Life Cycle Design), to Swedish concrete multi-dwelling buildings. The aim of the study is to look into methodological issues of ILCD and to present the fundamental attributes of dwelling buildings and how they relate to concrete as a structural material. READ MORE

2. Integrated Life Cycle Design - Applied to concrete multi-dwelling buildings
Abstract : The objective of this work is to explore ways of enhancing the overall lifetime quality, including cost and environmental efficiency, of Swedish concrete multi-dwelling buildings. The building and its characteristics, as well as the procedures for whole life optimisation, are addressed. READ MORE

3. Creating value from bio-residuals : Biogas solutions for biobased industries in Scandinavia
Abstract : This thesis focuses on biogas solutions for biobased industries as substrate management or energy providers. It investigates how such solutions are set up, what factors are important for their development, the effects on society and biobased industries, and the possibility of having biogas solutions as part of a sustainability strategy for biobased industries. 4. Evolutionary Materialism: Towards a Theory of Anticipatory Adaptive Assemblages
Abstract : This thesis is an investigation into how meta-heuristic multi-objective optimisation processes (genetic algorithms driven by evolutionary solvers) can bring about materials-related advantages in architectural performance. It redefines the architect’s and engineer’s role from being designers of a singular space or structure to being designers of entire species of spaces, and discusses a particular method – anticipatory adaptive assemblages (AAA) – that allows such processes to produce many generations of design iterations that eventually yield individuals optimised for a set of predefined objectives. 5. Environmental Assessment of Green Chemicals - LCA of Bio-Based Chemicals Produced Using Biocatalysis
Abstract : It is of at most importance that society reduces its impact on the environment. In the chemical industry the use of renewable resources will play a fundamental role in the transition to more sustainable chemical products. Also industrial biotechnology, i.e. READ MORE
