16. Location-aware resource allocation in mobile edge clouds
Abstract : Over the last decade, cloud computing has realized the long-held dream of computing as a utility, in which computational and storage services are made available via the Internet to anyone at any time and from anywhere. This has transformed Information Technology (IT) and given rise to new ways of designing and purchasing hardware and software. READ MORE

17. Performance-based costing as decision support for development of discrete part production : Linking performance, production costs and sustainability
Abstract : In today’s global market, the industry is struggling every day to make the “correct decisions”. Decisions concerning production can range from smaller improvements to choice tool or equipment investments to relocation of entire production facilities. READ MORE

18. Gossip-based Algorithms for Information Dissemination and Graph Clustering
Abstract : Decentralized algorithms are becoming ever more prevalent in almost all real-world applications that are either data intensive, computation intensive or both. This thesis presents a few decentralized solutions for large-scale (i) data dissemination, (ii) graph partitioning, and (iii) data disambiguation. READ MORE

19. On distributed real-time systems : the mStar environment, net-based learning and context-aware applications
Abstract : This doctoral thesis presents two frameworks for distributed real-time systems, the mStar environment for Computer Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW) and the Alipes architecture for context-aware applications, from the perspective of distributed teamwork and net-based learning. The mStar environment was designed to be symmetric and fully distributed, which allows all users equal access and thus full interactivity, as well as scalable through the use of IP multicast and a server-less design. 20. Two Shades of Service Mobility: Application Mobility and Mobile E-services
Abstract : Over the last two decades, mobile computing has gone from being a mere vision to becoming a reality, ubiquitously present in our everyday lives. There are different types of mobility, from user and terminal mobility, to mobility of services and sessions. READ MORE
