    Keywords : SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; traumatic brain injury; childhood; adolescence; neurosurgical care; cognitive development; executive functions; memory; verbal functions; long-term outcome; recovery; rehabilitation; follow-up; cluster analysis; Psychology; Psykologi; psykologi; Psychology;

    Abstract : There is limited knowledge of cognitive outcome extending beyond 5 years after childhood traumatic brain injury, CTBI. The main objectives of this thesis were to investigate cognitive outcome at 6-14 years after CTBI, and to evaluate if advancements in the neurosurgical care, starting 1992, did influence long-term outcome and early epidemiology. 2. 2. From Cue to Recall : The Temporal Dynamics of Long-Term Memory Retrieval

    Author : Robin Hellerstedt; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; think no-think; memory intrusion; retrieval-induced forgetting; ERP; long-term memory; cued recall;

    Abstract : A fundamental function of long-term memory is the ability to retrieve a specific memory when encountering a retrieval cue. The purpose of this dissertation was to further our understanding of such cued recall by investigating the temporal dynamics from the presentation of the retrieval cue until the target memory is recalled. 3. 3. Memory for Problem Solving: Comparative Studies in Attention, Working and Long-term Memory

    Author : Katarzyna Bobrowicz; LUCS grupp för kognitiv zoologi; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; memory; flexibility; comparative cognition; transfer; problem solving; attention;

    Abstract : Living in a complex and dynamically changing environment requires accurate and timely behavioural responses that allow for adapting to such changes. Well-developed perceptual systems provide a continuous flow of abundant and up-to-date information on the changes in the environment, and, thereby, allow for tailoring behavioural responses accordingly.
