  1. 1. Activity and participation long term after stroke

    Author : Anna Norlander; Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Assessment instruments; ICF; Leisure activities; Long-term; Participation; Predictors; Rehabilitation; Social activities; Stroke; Qualitative Research;

    Abstract : Background and aim: As an increasing number of people are living and ageing with the consequences ofstroke, the rehabilitation and support provided for this group needs to have a long-term perspective. Moreover,to prevent long-term activity limitations and participation restrictions after stroke, increased knowledge is neededregarding how engagement in different types of activities develops beyond the first years of recovery andadaptation. 2. 2. Fatigue in long-term illness : Influencing factors and functional performance in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and in cancer

    Author : Kristina Tödt; Anna Efverman; Maria Engström; Magnus Ekström; Marlene Malmström; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fatigue; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; cancer; daily activity; health-related quality of life; mental health; physical capacity; physical activity; radiotherapy; work ability; fatigue; kroniskt obstruktiv lungsjukdom; cancer; daglig aktivitet; hälsorelaterad livskvalitet; oro och nedstämdhet; fysisk kapacitet; fysisk aktivitet; strålbehandling; arbetsförmåga;

    Abstract : Syfte: Avhandlingen studerade sambandet mellan fatigue (trötthet) och valda inverkande faktorer, funktionsförmåga (fysisk och daglig aktivitet och arbetsförmåga) samt med hälsorelaterad livskvalitet (HRQL) vid kroniskt obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) och vid cancer. Metod: Patienter med KOL (n=121, delarbete I-II) och patienter med cancer under pågående strålbehandling (n=457, delarbete III) studerades i tvärsnittsstudier. 3. 3. Predicting the Long-Term Insulation Performance of District Heating Pipes

    Author : Camilla Persson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; heat conduction; polyurethane foam; insulation capacity; diffusion; thermal conductivity; cyclopentane; solubility coefficient; long-term performance;

    Abstract : The aim of the studies that comprise this thesis was to predict the heat loss over timefrom a range of district heating pipes insulated with closed-cells foam. The thermalconductivity of the foam changes over time when it is not diffusion-tight encapsulatedagainst the environment, as diffusion alters the cell gas composition until it reachesequilibrium with the surrounding air. 4. 4. Quasi-instantaneous and Long-term Deformations of High-Performance Concrete with Some Related Properties

    Author : Bertil Persson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Shrinkage; Relative humidity; Long-term; Hydration; High-Performance Concrete; Elastic modulus; Deformations; Creep; Concrete; Cement; Quasi-instantaneous; Strength; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : This report outlines an experimental and numerical study on quasi-instantaneous and long-term deformations of High-Performance Concrete, HPC, with some related properties. For this purpose about two hundred small cylinders and about one thousand cubes of eight types of HPC were cast. The age at loading varied between 18h and 28 days. READ MORE

  5. 5. Degradation mechanisms and long-term performance of PUR insulation in district heating pipes

    Author : Alberto Vega; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mechanical performance; thermal conductivity; District heating pipe; degradation mechanisms; long-term performance; rigid polyurethane foam;

    Abstract : District heating networks are used worldwide, especially in Scandinavian countries and also in many other countries, e.g. Germany, Russia, United States, South Korea and China. From an environmental point of view, district heating networks are a good alternative to more traditional building heating systems. READ MORE
