1. Design, Fabrication and Analysis of InP-InGaAsP Traveling-Wave Electro-Absorption Modulators
Abstract : External modulators will become key components in fiberoptical communica- tion systems operating at 40Gbit/s andhigher bitrates. Semiconductor electro- absorption (EA)modulators are promising candidates because of their high-speed potential, and their process compatibility with thecorresponding semi- conductor laser light sources. 2. Learning between projects : - in product development contexts -
Abstract : A project is often formed with the intention to bring forth a deliverable within a certain time frame. This goal-focus however may lead to suboptimizations on the organizational level. At the same time projects more often than not underperform in a number of aspects, with an especially huge gap in the learning aspect. READ MORE

3. Who is afraid of SGEI? : services of general economic interest in EU law with a case study on social services in Swedish systems of choice
Abstract : For a long time confined to Article 106(2) TFEU, a provision allowing to justify regulatory measures derogating from Treaty rules by invoking their necessity in order to enable undertakings entrusted with services of general economic interest (SGEIs) to fulfil their special tasks, SGEI has become a constitutional concept of EU law. In the post-Lisbon EU Treaties it is subject to new provisions, in particular Article 14 TFEU and the Protocol on services on general interest. READ MORE

4. Error reduction strategies for quantitative PET with focus on hybrid PET/MRI
Abstract : Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an important tool for detection, staging and follow-up in a wide range of diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders. As a functional imaging tool, PET can visualize biological processes, where positron emitting radioactive isotopes are connected to molecules with different functions in the body. READ MORE

5. Evolutionary patterns and processes of bacteriophages, particularly P2-like phages
Abstract : DNA sequencing of structural genes of temperate P2-like prophages from isolates of Escherichia coli bacteria showed that the difference between these genes was very small. Separate phylogenetic analyses on the genes resulted in unresolved trees, caused by a high level of homologous recombination, which implied that homologous recombination is the most important source of new genetic variation for P2-like phages infecting E.
