Abstract :
In this thesis nanocomposite materials for use in high performance electrical contacts are tested. Self mating silver as coatings on cupper substrates are the most used material combination in power connectors today. In this work two new concepts were tested. READ MORE

Abstract :
Fuel cells have emerged as one alternative to satisfy the need of energy systems with net-zero emissions. Although fuel cells date back to the 1800s, it is only during the last decades that their research has boosted to ease their commercialization. READ MORE

Abstract :
Porous materials have shown potential for solving one of the significant challenges to sequestering CO2 gas from point sources. Microporous materials, zeolites and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous materials with tailorable adsorptive properties to develop higher performance for an energy-efficient CO2 separation. Abstract :
This work focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application projections of low-coordinated heavy pnictogen-containing (described by the generic letter E, hence E=C) phosphaalkenes (P=C) and arsaalkenes (As=C), with emphasis on the E=C group motifs. The work aims to understand their functional and modular character, reactivity, and potential applications by stabilizing, isolating, and characterizing these species in low-coordination environments.
