    Abstract : This thesis, with a national sample of Swedish school students, is part of a collaborate project between Karolinska Institutet, The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences and Stockholm Institute of Education carried out in 2001 and with a follow-up study in 2004. The overall aim of the collaboration was to investigate the conditions and circumstances surrounding school children's physical activities, their physical capacity, and general health status, with special attention paid to changes over time and with increase in age.
