    Abstract : This dissertation aims to contribute to the field of discourse analysis by focusing on three discourse marker candidates, namely buoys, PALM-UP and the sign SAME, in French Belgian Sign Language (LSFB) and Catalan Sign Language (LSC). The first issue in the study of discourse markers is their identification, which has been based on three criteria: to be syntactically optional, to be non-truth-conditional and to constrain the inferential mechanisms of interpretation processes. 3. 3. Non-Invasive Assessment of Liver Fibrosis with 31P-Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    Author : Bengt Norén; Staffan Wirell; Peter Lundberg; Peter Leander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The present study aims at demonstrating phosphorus metabolite concentration changes and alterations in uptake/excretion of a hepatocyte specific contrast agent in patients with diffuse - or suspected diffuse - liver disease by applying two non-invasive quantitative MR techniques and to compare the results with histo-pathological findings, with focus on liver fibrosis.In the first study phosphorus-31 MR spectroscopy using slice selection (DRESS) was implemented. Abstract : Leukemic stem cells (LSCs) share the capacity of self renewal and extensive proliferation with normal hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), and are therefore obvious targets for therapy. As such, they need to be identified and characterized in order to elucidate what drives them, and what separates them from their normal counterparts. READ MORE

  5. 5. Luminescent Silicon Nanocrystals: From Single Quantum Dot to Light-harvesting Devices

    Author : Jingjian Zhou; Ilya Sychugov; Jan Linnros; Peter Schall; KTH; []
