  1. 16. Vibrational energy harvesting for sensors in vehicles

    Author : Johan Bjurström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; piezoelectric; anti-resonance; electromagnetic induction; prescribed displacement; low frequency; nonlinear dynamics; small amplitude excitation; automotive safety; vibration energy harvesting; unified modeling;

    Abstract : The miniaturization of semiconductor technology and reduction in power requirements have begun to enable wireless self-sufficient devices, powered by ambient energy. To date the primary application lies in generating and transmitting sensory data. READ MORE

  2. 17. Thermal System Analysis : heat transfer in glass forming and fluid temperature-control systems

    Author : Karl Storck; Rolf Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Thermal system analyses are often required, and conducted, in engineering problems in almost all engineering disciplines. The methods employed vary a great deal and must be specially adapted for each situation. Basically, two different methods are used, namely distributed modelling and lumped parameter modelling. 3. 18. A Detailed Modeling Study for Primary Reference Fuels and Fuel Mixtures and Their Use in Engineering Applications

    Author : Syed Ahmed; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teknik; Detailed mechanism; Lumping procedure; Reduction technique.; Technological sciences; Fuel blends; n-heptane; Primary Reference Fuels PRF ; Toulene; iso-octane;

    Abstract : The aim of this work is to generate detailed and simplified kinetic models for the oxidation of the Primary Reference Fuels (PRF) n-heptane, iso-octane and their mixtures, with low numbers of species and reactions. These mechanisms are consistent in terms of the choice of kinetic parameters for the different reaction classes. READ MORE

  5. 20. Modelling and Simulation of Reactor Pressure Vessel Failure during Severe Accidents

    Author : Peng Yu; Weimin Ma; Walter Villanueva; Sevostian Bechta; Florian Fichot; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RPV failure; thermo-fluid-structure coupling; creep modelling; melt pool heat transfer; severe accident; CFD; FEA; transIVR;

    Abstract : This thesis aims at the development of new coupling approaches and new models for the thermo-fluid-structure coupling problem of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) failure during severe accidents and related physical phenomena. The thesis work consists of five parts: (i) development of a three-stage creep model for RPV steel 16MND5, (ii) development of a thermo-fluid-structure coupling approach for RPV failure analysis, (iii) performance comparison of the new approach that uses volume loads mapping (VLM) for data transfer with the previous approach that uses surface loads mapping (SLM), (iv) development of a lumped-parameter code for quick estimate of transient melt pool heat transfer, and (v) development of a hybrid coupling approach for efficient analysis of RPV failure.
