6. Molecular genetics of B- and T-lymphocyte development
Abstract : Lymphocytes are essential for the generation of specific immunity. Development of B cells in the bone marrow and T cells in the thymus have several analogous features, and are tightly regulated processes. Even though there is an increasing amount of information concerning lymphopoiesis, a lot of questions remain. READ MORE

7. Influence of FK506 on certain aspects of lymphocyte activation and lymphocyte-endothelial cell interactions in vitro
Abstract : In the present thesis, the influence of the immunosuppressive drug FK506 on mitogen-induced changes in the expression of subunits a and ß of the IL-2 receptor by isolated human peripheral blood mononuclear cells has been studied. Up-regulation and release of the a-chain were potently depressed by FK506, even in the presence of exogenous IL-2. READ MORE

10. Expansion of circulatory Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in tularemia and Pontiac fever, two intracellular bacterial diseases with widely different clinical expression
Abstract : Although well established that human Vγ9Vδ2 T cells may expand in circulation during intracellular bacterial infections, most underlying studies included only a few cases and only some diseases had been studied so far. In tularemia, a severe invasive disease, only one patient had been described. READ MORE
