  1. 1. Aggressive B-cell Lymphomas : Studies of Treatment, FDG-PET Evaluation and Prognostic Factors

    Author : Magdalena Adde; Gunilla Enblad; Hans Hagberg; Anna Laurell; Tor Ekman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Abstract : To improve outcome in young, high-risk lymphoma patients, treatment was intensified, adding etoposide and rituximab to standard CHOP treatment. Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) enabled treatment bi-weekly. Results were promising: overall (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) 79% and 60% respectively, median follow up 27 months. 3. 3. Molecular genetic alterations in chemically-induced lymphomas

    Author : Shi-Mei Zhuang; V. Peter Collins; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Lymphoma is one of the most common malignancies in humans. Its incidence has increased rapidly in the past 30 years. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of lymphomas are largely unknown.Environmental carcinogens play an important role in tumorigenesis. READ MORE

  4. 4. Associations Between Rheumatoid Arthritis and Malignant Lymphomas

    Abstract : Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at increased risk of developing malignant lymphoma, although details about this association remain unclear. The aims of this thesis were to investigate risk factors for lymphoma in patients with RA and to characterize these lymphomas regarding subtype, presence of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), clinical manifestations and prognosis. 5. 5. Mechanisms of immune dysfunction in human lymphomas

    Author : Jan Sjöberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Accumulating data suggest that tumor-induced immune dysfunction counteracts presumptively efficient tumor-specific immune responses, and thus contributes to disease progression. In the present work, focus was given on immune dysfunction and the underlying mechanisms in two human lymphomas, Hodgkin's disease (HD) and B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL). READ MORE
