  1. 1. Bridging the Gaps : Realising Human Diversity in the Built Environment through Universal Design

    Author : Lilian Müller; Certec - Rehabiliteringsteknik och Design; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Universell utformning; Tillgänglighet; Byggd miljö; Stadsplanering; Funktionshinder; Mänskliga Rättigheter;

    Abstract : This thesis explores how more equal and inclusive living environments can be achieved by using Universal Design (UD) to incorporate human diversity in all stages of planning and construction. The ongoing exclusion of persons with disabilities from the built environment does not result from a lack of knowledge on how to remedy existing obstacles nor of how to avoid creating new ones. 2. 2. Challenges in Partially Automated Driving : A Human Factors Perspective

    Author : Ignacio Solís Marcos; Katja Kircher; Alejandro Galvao; Tuomo Kujala; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Partial automation; human factors; event-related potentials; cognitive underload; task interference; additional task; automation experience; automation trust; Partial automation; mänskliga faktorer; Eventrelaterade potentialer; kognitiv underbelastning; arbetsstörningar; sidouppgift; automatiseringserfarenhet; automatiseringsförtroende;

    Abstract : The technological development in recent years is currently reflected in the implementation of more and more advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). A clear example is found in the automated driving systems being marketed today. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modelling and Validation of Industrial Measurement Systems - Aspects of Quality and Human Factors

    Author : Jenny Wirandi; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []

    Abstract : Although there is a fairly large number of books and articles concerning the validation of technical measurement systems, there are only a few which take into account the whole measurement system consisting of both technical and non-technical aspects. A measurement system comprises both the measurement process and the human being who conducts the measurement. READ MORE

  4. 4. Maf and Mitf transcription factors regulate pancreatic endocrine cell differentiation and function

    Author : Magdalena Mazur; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pancreas development; beta cells; insulin; MafA; MafB; Mitf; diabetes;

    Abstract : Diabetes - the imbalance in glucose homeostasis is partially caused by loss or dysfunction of pancreatic insulin producing β cells or development of insulin resistance. In Type 1 diabetes β cells are destroyed in the process of an autoimmune attack, whereas in Type 2 diabetes, islets produce insufficient amounts of insulin or the insulin cannot be used adequately. Abstract : Historical demographic research is central to understanding past human behaviours and traits, such as fertility, mortality and migration. An essential part of historical demography is conducting longitudinal analyses at the micro-level, which involves the detailed follow-up of individuals over long time periods throughout their lives.
